Kill Me
Roger C. Reale Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
It's just not worth it what you're puttin' me through
Don't criticize me when the goin' gets rough
There's just one thing to do if you've had enough, you gotta
Kill me, Don't you hear what I say
Kill me, You know I won't go away
Kill me, I am everywhere
Don't try to tell me that you don't understand
You know you worked it out according to plan
You think I don't know what you're trying to do
I know you've reached the point
There's nothing left to lose, you gotta
Kill me, Till I don't make a sound
Kill me, If you don't want me around
Kill me, Then my body is gone
Kill me But my spirit lives on

The lyrics of Roger C. Reale's "Kill Me" express frustration and exhaustion with a toxic relationship that feels impossible to escape. The singer has had enough of the other person's treatment and pleads with them to just end it all and put them out of their misery. The repetition of the phrase "kill me" throughout the song emphasizes the desperation and hopelessness of the situation.
The singer also accuses the other person of plotting against them and trying to manipulate the situation to their advantage. Despite this, the singer still cares about their partner and asks them to see that they too care, even if it means letting go completely.
Overall, the lyrics convey a sense of being trapped in a cycle of dysfunction and hopelessness, where the only option seems to be to end it all.
