Voudouris was born in Sacramento, CA, and formed Roger Voudouris Loud as Hell Rockers while still in high school. That band would later enjoy small success as an opening act for The Doobie Brothers, Stephen Stills, and John Mayall.
In 1978, he released his self-titled debut album which received very little radio play. It was his 2nd album, "Radio Dream", which contained his only charted hit single, "Get Used To It".
Voudouris released 2 more albums, 1980's "A Guy Like Me" and 1981's "On The Heels Of Love". He achieved a large amount of success in Japan and became a small cult-figure in Australia due to his appearance the popular music TV program "Countdown".
He later returned to writing music and lyrics for various projects including the Pia Zadora-starred film "The Lonely Lady" and a documentary on the life of Elvis Presley.
Voudouris died in 2003 due to liver disease.

Roger was an absolute underrated star. His voice was right there with Kenny Rankin and Gino Vanelli. That is good company. Sadly he never got the promotion he deserved. After so many years his music still evokes haunting memories of younger days. That is talent. RIP to a wonder singer.

A friend of outrageous proportions... Roger is/was a talent more deserving than the brief spotlight he may or may not have enjoyed on this earth... I will remember him, I will not forget him, I will do my best in MY own medium to exalt his talent and kept the flame alive.... Thank you for posting.
