1)The band started sometime around 1985 with members from various punkbands around Detroit.
First solid lineup was Jeff on vocals, Keith Jackson on guitar (was later replaced by Kirk), Chris also he on guitar, Bill on bass and Jim on drums.

2) Consisting of three brothers and two drifters, Rogues combine new wave atmospherics with upbeat dance grooves to create original, ethereal pop music. Formed in the summer of '08, Rogues' pivotal debut shows have generated a storm of interest and established an ever growing legion of followers.

The band have already been played on radio by Zane Lowe, Steve Lamacq (whom they recently did a live Radio 1 session for ), John Kennedy and Huw Stephens.

Rogues’ first release is 'Not So Pretty' a limited 300 copies release on 50 Bones (Little Boots, We Have Band, The Virgins etc) in early March 2009.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Rogue's song "Merry Go Round" portray a scenario where the singer is willing to stay with someone for the night, even if it's just for a flimsy or made-up reason. She's not typically the type of person to do such a thing, but she finds the person she's with so appealing that she'll bend the rules - and even her own personal beliefs - to ensure that she gets to spend more time with him. The first verse sets up the situation; she's telling the person she's with that all they need to do is provide her with any reason at all and she'll remain with him/her. She then proceeds to sing about how she's not typically the kind of girl that does this kind of thing, but that's how much she likes this person - he's her "type of guy". She tells him to come closer, and hints at what could happen if he does.

The chorus talks about how he makes her world "go round", and that he has the power to make it "turn round, round, round". Essentially, Rogue is stating that this person has an incredibly big impact on her life and that he's changing everything for the better. The second verse pretty much repeats the same message as the first, with the caveat that the singer can "be any type of girl" if that's what the person she's with wants - because he's still her type of guy. She's saying that she'll do anything to make the relationship work, and it seems like the feelings are mutual because she can "feel us turning baby, filling up the sky." This last line seems to imply that their relationship has the potential to take off and turn into something bigger than both of them.
