His work has concentrated on two distinct streams. On the one hand, he is a highly regarded performer of traditional Baroque music, recording works by Bach, Monteverdi, and Gautier. On the other hand, he is a skilled improvisor who has composed ideosyncratic works that combine Baroque instruments and conventions with more contemporary instruments like jazz bass and percussion.

Ho conosciuto questo musicista solo da poco e l'uso che del mandolino mi affascina. Ha dato ad uno strumento che ritenevo più legato alla musica popolare napoletana che non alla musica sinfonica, un nuovo significato. La sua lettura di Vivaldi da alla musica una rotondità che altri musicisti non danno, fantastico; un musicista che dovrebbe suonare di diritto con il suo ensamble alla Scala, ll'Opera di Roma, alla Fenice. I suoi concerto sarebbero un onore per i teatri che li ospitassero.
