The first game they play here in this movie is called "Daruma-san ga koronda" (達磨さんが転んだ).

The first game they played in Squid Game is "Mugunghwa kkochi pieotseumnida" (무궁화꽃이 피었습니다).

They're both variations of Red Light, Green Light game. But they are not the squid game.

To everyone saying this is more merciful than Squid Game, keep in mind that these people were forced into games that would inevitably lead to most of their deaths, especially since only 7 people could make it to the final game although multiple schools were subjected to these games and even fewer would die thanks to bad luck.

Now in Squid Game, you aren't forced to play. You choose to do so on your own will. Some may argue that the contestants were tricked into playing deadly games and that is true, but they all had the option to vote and opt out of the games (which they did) only for every single contestant to return. Despite a couple hundred dying, all the others had their chance despite being in a financial crisis.

TL;DR You aren't forced into Squid Game but you are forced into the deadly games in this movie.

For those saying the doll at the end meant that no one had to die at all through the games, it meant only the "kick the can". Obviously, everyone apart from one was meant to die to the daruma doll. In all the other games however it may be possible, but EXTREMELY difficult, for everyone to survive. And maybe they could survive the ice cream thing if they didn't choose one (but then the dolls might have threatened to kill all of them if they didn't choose).

If everyone, including the bully, worked together and figured everything out quick enough (switching between being a mouse and a student just in time to avoid death, as they go for the mice first).
If they figured out right away that it was the polar bear lying and not them. If one of the other students in the room spoke beforehand and coughed a certain number of times depending on who was standing behind them in the "Kagame" game.
And it doesn't necessarily say that only 7 people can live after this, just that you need a minimum of 7. So as long as the bully doesn't kill anyone, everyone should be able to move onto the kick the bucket.

Parsley is okay, maybe not eating them as is and raw like its cucumber, but they are nice when you add them in food, evident how many food uses them. Chinese parsley also known as coriander on the other hand isn't, they are rarely used other than for garnish, even in chinese food.

The genius of this movie is how it's making the same point as the Fall, but it does so in a way that gets overlooked. The main character, who is supposedly the good guy, was bored with paradise, and so asked for something more. He's claiming, then, to know better than God. So God gives him a world of competition where it's his life vs the lives of others (except, he doesn't have to participate in the game: none of them do). He dislikes living this way as well, while the one who has the most fun is the bully. The bully firmly declares that he is a child of God, both because of his power and then because of his luck.

The supposedly good guy, who asked for all of this in the first place, instead declares that God doesn't exist after being given what he asked for. The bully was right: the two of them are the same. One is in denial about himself playing the power game while the other isn't, and the one is even trying to play a power game against God, while the other isn't. It's amazing how that's written. The answer to the one is in the other and the answer to the other is in the one. But the game was started by the good guy rejecting life because he wanted something better than the Truth (better than paradise, God, etc).

Also the death of Shouko was boring and so forced to me, and the fact that they want both of the girl to die so soon that they straight out replace Shouko's death with Ichika and killed Shouko early on is just so cringe, like i don't even need a love interest or anything like that but Ichika plays such an important part in the manga, she's litterally one of the leads. Also they changed the games like it boils my blood, the way Shun wins the "Who's behind your back" is also so much more convincing and interesting, i don't why but i also hate the blended in unesscesary gore in the "Who's behind your back" game and those little tiny red balls that come out of their bodies in Dakuma game, seems so cringe to me.

It´s a really good manga, kamisama no iutoori.
the first 3 Games in the movie are really similar to the manga (much less bloody in the movie) but than, it takes a big shift from the manga. there are a lot more games and especially the beginning is well written. later it looses itself, but so what. still enjoyed it.
But i guess, i´m already to late and another one posted it!

The winners are a compassionate hero and a psycho villain. If this game was intended to weed out the ill hearted then amaya should've definitely died first so i think... Only in theory.. There's a bigger game to play in the outside world with more brutal and smart people. Those kids were saved in order to not participate in a more gruesome game.

This reminds me of a BL (Boy's love) manhwa/manhua that I read where a few people got pulled into a game somehow, which was like a haunted halloween type themed game, where they all had to escape. They all had some sort of ability too,when they entered the game to survive. Like this game they met new people on the way, some died too. Actually there is a folk outdoor game in Russia which is very similar in concept. There is a watcher who doesn't look at a crowd of other players, who all run towards him when he doesn't watch, but freese when he suddenly turns around. Those who are seen by the watcher moving in any way are expelled from the game and observe. It's really fun, we've even had it once on our PE class.
So the concept of the game is not new, but is probably rather old.

No. Squid game has at least a tangible story narrative and premise that is consistent. This is just random magical games with no rhyme or reason to any of it. Everything being solved through some deus ex machina, only for it to not matter anyway as the dolls just switch up the rules and just kill people when they feel like it.
There is no reason to feel invested in anything that happens when you don't even understand what's going on and the dolls can just contradict themselves and have characters killed because of "rules" that were pulled out of nothing
