Gimmie Shelter
Rolling Stones Lyrics
Oh, a storm is threat'ning
My very life today
If I don't get some shelter
Oh yeah, I'm gonna fade away
War, children, it's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
War, children, it's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
Our very street today
Burns like a red coal carpet
Mad bull lost its way
War, children, it's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
War, children, it's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
Rape, murder!
It's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
Rape, murder yeah!
It's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
Rape, murder!
It's just a shot away
It's just a shot away yea
The floods is threat'ning
My very life today
Gimme, gimme shelter
Or I'm gonna fade away
War, children, it's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
I tell you love, sister, it's just a kiss away
It's just a kiss away
It's just a kiss away
It's just a kiss away
It's just a kiss away
Kiss away, kiss away

I am 250 years old, and this reminds me of when I was in the Battle of Trafalgar. I carried Admiral Lord Nelson below decks to his death. His real final words were, "Oh, this is gonna hurt."

Didn't I see you in the comments section of The James Gang Funk #49?
Anyway, thank you for your service and I'm glad you made it home. I was only 5 years old in 1970, but this song always brings up a memory of soldiers on the T.V. I wasn't aware of the war when I was little so I figured it was just from my parents watching the news.

Esa generación entendió todo... Antes que nadie. 50 años y la letra todavía aplica. Dios...

It reminds me of high school in the early 80s. simply music that had sense and will never go out style.
