Quatre ans après l’album « Non, Non, Non », Roméo Praly est resté dans toutes les mémoires grâce à sa chanson « Petite Conne ». On pensait qu’il sortait avec un mannequin…Trêve de plaisanterie ! On s’attendait à ce qu’il reconduise sur les mêmes bases le succès de son premier disque, effectivement il ramène à la surface de son timbre magistral treize chansons en français d’aujourd’hui et d’hier. Après avoir vendu 10 000 albums, 30 000 singles, et 150 000 compilations en France et à l’étranger, il se peut qu’il ait eu du mal à s’en remettre.
"Le succès, c’est très relatif… La preuve : je ne travaille plus ni avec mon producteur de l’époque, ni mon tourneur, ni mon éditeur, mes amis m’ont quitté, et ma femme est partie avec le chien !"
Roméo Praly aura donc mis quatre ans à retrouver le centre de son émotivité, d’abord en arrêtant la musique, puis en la reprenant grâce à la motivation affichée de ses futurs associés, Juan Tamayo et Sarah Schmierer, au sein de la société LMV, qu’ils développent aujourd’hui. En décembre 2005, ils accouchent de leur idée…

L’année suivante, la société constituée autour d’un projet concentré principalement sur de la musique live, une salle, La Maroquinerie, et une date arrêtée le 13 juin, l’aventure commence.
Des musiciens sont approchés. François Lebleu, batteur (L’Affaire Louis Trio, Prohom), Aleksander Angelov, bassiste (Blanc, Cassius), Christian Fradin, clavier (Etienne Daho, Engel Maimone Entreprise), Juan Tamayo, guitariste (Frederic lo, Axel Bauer), ainsi qu'Alicia Alonso comédienne et scénariste qui accepte de chanter en duo sur "Ne Raccroche Pas" l’équipe est constituée. Un choix de chansons anciennes et nouvelles, et c’est parti. Après une semaine de répétition, le concert est enregistré dans son intégralité ; l’affaire est dans le disque dur.
Une rencontre heureuse avec Steve Forward, réalisateur (Paul Mc Cartney, Ray Charles, Sid Vicious, Squeeze ou Laurent Voulzy…) et l’album est mixé dans le studio de Simon Cloquet (Human). Le répertoire n’a pas été choisi au hasard.
"On peut dire que c’est un voyage qui se déroule sur une vingtaine d’années. De ‘’Armure’’ la plus ancienne à ‘’Merde’’ la plus récente, c’est un genre de best of de tout ce que j’ai pu composer et écrire jusqu’à présent. Même la reprise de Georges Brassens ‘’Je me suis fait tout petit’’ y trouve sa place. J’ai vécu plusieurs années à Pézenas étant enfant. D’ailleurs cet été sur le bateau d’un ami réalisateur Rémi Sautet à Sète, j’ai pu retrouver des racines que j’avais oubliées, aller sur des lieux chers à Brassens et même faire écouter la chanson à des amis de Georges. Ces moments ont été d’une grande vérité pour moi !"
On peut dire que cet album lui colle à la peau, tout entier dans ses textes et ses mélodies, il se dégage de cet enregistrement à la fois une force et une fragilité qui ne laisseront personne indifférent.
"Ce disque, c’est un peu comme une bouteille à la mer. Enregistré dans l’urgence, sans chichi et sans prise de tête, une bouteille qui attend qu’on la trouve. Il y a tellement de monde aujourd’hui sur terre, que je sais qu’elle finira par tomber dans de bonnes mains."
