Now two years later, his career definitely seems to be on the rise. His single Can't Sleep is still climbing up the Jamaican charts and already gained him attention outside Jamaica as well. Love Doctor on the Automatic riddim is already getting loads of airplay as well as his single Wanna Go Home. Romain Virgo manages to build his musical career while still doing a five-year bachelor's degree in performance at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts in Kingston, studying for a major in voice and minor in keyboard. This education assures that Romain's performance will be different from others. It already earned him a performance at Tony Rebel's prestigious Rebel Salute 2009 show earlier this month and performances at the well known dancehall parties in Kingston such at Passa Passa in Tivoli gardens and Weddy Weddy at Stone Love's Headquarters in Kingston.
With hard work, Romain is taking it one step at a time and will be out there and let the people know what he has to offer. Romain has been working with Donovan Germain of Penthouse Music and Dawin Brown of Vikings Sounds.

What do you tell hungry child, yes?
When the system no create no job,
weh yuh expect ghetto youths fi have
when innocent life get burn
Di government nuh show concern,
to who do the people turn, yeah
When the people hustle in the streets
Often run from police jeep
Tell me, now weh dem pickney ago eat

Times getting rough, times get slow
and we feel like letting go!
When we fee like letting go, letting go, yeah
Oh, you try your best,

The song The System by Romain Virgo is a socio-political commentary that reflects the harsh realities of people in the ghetto. The song highlights the struggles faced by poor people who barely survive due to poor government policies and a flawed system that caters to the elite while ignoring the plight of the poor. The first verse discusses the irony of working hard and not being able to find enough food for oneself or one's child. The system has failed to create jobs that would benefit the youth, resulting in a rise in crime, killings, and robberies. Innocent lives are compromised, and the government shows no concern, leaving the community in chaos. The chorus laments the feeling of letting go when you try your best but cannot fulfill your needs despite it.
The second verse focuses on the adverse effects of gun culture and reflects on the girl who was sexually exploited by older men in exchange for survival. The system has destroyed her hopes and dreams, leaving her in fear and forcing her parents to expel her. Romain Virgo questions the listener about who will show concern in such a situation when the government is apathetic. The song's theme portrays the harsh reality of the less fortunate people and how the failure of the system and government to create opportunities for them only perpetuates the cycle of poverty, crime, and misery.
