when I almost catch him smiling
There are times
When the pain will cease to show
There are times
When days go by
And he doesn't even cry
And then again
He lets her memory go,
Wild with the thoughts of her kisses
And her beautiful smile
From the sounds in the kitchen
To the tears of a child
He lets her memory go, wild
There are days
When he'll go out with the children
There are days
When you think it wasn't so
There are days when moments pass
Like they've got some chance to last
And then again
He lets her memory go
He lets her memory go,
Wild with the thoughts of her kisses
And her beautiful smile
From the sounds in the kitchen
To the tears of a child
He lets her memory go,
He lets her memory go,
He lets her memory go,
He lets her memory go, wild
The lyrics to Romano's song "Memory" depict a man navigating the grief of losing someone he loved deeply. The first stanza describes the conflicting emotions that he experiences as he grapples with the loss. There are times when he almost catches himself smiling, suggesting that he is able to experience moments of happiness despite his sadness. However, these moments are fleeting, and the pain of his loss is still there. On other days, he is able to move through the day without crying, but this does not mean that he has forgotten his loved one. Ultimately, he is able to let her memory go, but it is a wild and tumultuous journey marked by intense emotions such as longing and regret.
The second stanza suggests that the man is a father and that he is doing his best to take care of his children in the wake of his loss. There are days when he is able to overcome his grief and go out with his kids, but this is not always possible. Every moment becomes precious, imbued with the possibility that it might last forever. But despite his best efforts, he ultimately lets her memory go, allowing himself to fully experience the range of emotions that come with grief.
Overall, "Memory" is a poignant and honest portrayal of grief and loss. The lyrics capture the complexity of emotions that a person experiences when they lose someone they love deeply, and the journey of learning to let go and move forward with life.

LOL That's ME on the right of frame when they cut to the over the shoulder shot, looking out of the elevator toward the chopper. I doubled for him a few times on ER and this was his last day. He had the teamster speed off the lot like a bat out of hell. He had to get to the airport and get on a plane for New York for a play, I think. Was an interesting day.
