At the age of 14, Ron. D started rapping after being inspired by his older bother and mentor Reese as well as Chicago rapper J. Seuss. In 2001 Ron.D took his passion for rap further and formed a rap group with 4 of his childhood friends called "Donizm". Donizm went on to release two mixtapes, "Get Doe (2003)" & "Dead Presidents (2004)". The group disassembled shortly after. If life in Detroit couldn't get any worse, Ron.D's biggest influence, his big brother Reese, passed away. Feeling like he couldn't move on Ron. D dropped out of school and soon after moved to Atlanta in 2005.
While in Atlanta, Ron.D hooked up with artists from all over the United States to form the rap group "The Empire". The Empire released two mixtapes "We don't strike back we strike first (2005)" & "Hate it or Love it (2006)". After having some personal and managerial issues with The Empire Ron.D, returned to Detroit in 2007 with little to no hope in pursuing a musical career.
In 2011, an almost 4 year break from music, Ron.D was ready to jump back in and give rapping all he has. He teamed up with the legendary producer/engineer P. Gruv and became a part of the J Dilla "the Rebirth of Detroit" project. With this new relationship Ron. D decided that he would either tackle the rap game head on or he would never touch the mic again. This new lease on life birthed his highly anticipated debut solo mix tape "Now or Neva." You can now experience his life and love on every track...

That this world believes in love.
I believe
That this world believes in love.
Love.
We might never really agree
On anything about the lives we live
So differently.
We don't always see things the same
We should agree to disagree.
If we meet in love we can work it out.
I believe
You and I will overcome.
I believe
You and I believe in love.
Love.
Whether you think I'm so confused
Or if you feel the way I do.
So don't give in
To this hate within.
Living in this world of pain,
Don't let it bring you down.
The world is a ghetto!
The world is a ghetto!
The world is a ghetto!
The world is a ghetto!
The world is a ghetto!
I believe
That this world believes in love
I believe
That this world believes in love
I believe
You and I believe in love
Love.
The song "Ghetto" by Ron.D explores the concept of love and unity in a world that seems to be plagued with division and hate. The opening lines of the song state the belief that the world believes in love, which sets the tone for the rest of the track. The lyrics suggest that although people may have different opinions and beliefs, love should be the common ground that brings us together. Ron.D acknowledges that disagreements and different perspectives are natural, but it's important to agree to disagree and approach each other with a sense of love and respect.
The chorus of the song reinforces the belief in love and the idea that we can overcome any obstacle if we unite in this common belief. The lyrics "You and I believe in love" are powerful and serve as a reminder that love is a unifying force that can bring people together, regardless of their differences.
The final lines of the song shift the focus to the harsh reality of the world we live in, describing it as a "ghetto". This serves to emphasize the importance of love and unity even more, as the world can be a difficult and challenging place to navigate. Despite the adversity, Ron.D encourages listeners to hold onto the belief in love and not let the pain and hate of the world bring us down.
Overall, "Ghetto" is a powerful and uplifting song that encourages listeners to view the world through a lens of love and unity, even in the face of adversity and disagreement.
