Meaning-Meaningless
Ron Pope Lyrics
In the sweet embrace of twilight
Just before the night time came
All her children in the front yard
There was laughter all the breeze
Then a call came from her father
In his house half away 'cross town
He said 'love, I hate to tell you
But your mother, she's gone now'
And time moving quickly before our eyes
So she tries to tell her husband
But she cannot make a sound
And he hears through all the silence
So before she hits the ground
He says 'baby, are you with me?'
And he opens up her eyes
And she says 'I lost my mother'
And a piece of her heart dies
And time moving quickly before our eyes
Oh why do these moments seem to fly?
And time moving quickly before our eyes
Oh why do these moments seem to fly?
I am trapped and wondering why
Now it's late and she is restless
All her girls are tucked in bed
She is searching for a meaning
When all words feel meaningless
And the hardest part of losing
Is the memory of the when
And the hardest part of letting go
Is when you know you never cared
Yea, the hardest part of letting go
Is when you know you never cared
And time moving quickly before our eyes
Oh why do these moments seem to fly?
And time moving quickly before our eyes
Oh why do these moments seem to fly?
I am trapped and wondering why
Moving quickly before our eyes

So beautiful and sad xxxxx

I lost my mom almost four years ago. I stumbled across this song, while picking up my kids toys. I literally stopped in my tracks, and just couldn't believe the amount of emotion in this song. It's the absolute truth, and how things unfold. I've never listened to a song so many times in one day.

@Will Gregg I do quite frequently. I write every night, and this song inspires me a lot. All of his music does, especially this one. Being a mother, and having lost my mother, it's like a warm embrace to a soul that's weeping.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Julie :( I am glad you commented because I passionately feel that modern songs have no/little emotional connection in them...but Ron Pope's do and it's especially true for you :) Thank you for viewing my video and I hope you'll keep pressing repeat and connect with them :)

Ouééé ! ce qu'il ya de bien avec Ron Pope, c'est qu'il se casse vraiment pas le cul. On peut chanter With or Without You sur la moitié de ses chansons. Il a raison !! on a toujours tort de trop se casser le cul.
