Ronnie was raised in a musical family. His older brothers, Art and Ted, were active in the skiffle & traditional jazz scenes.
Ronnie has been in The Rolling Stones since 1975. He previously was a songwriter and backing musician with Rod Stewart when both were in 1970s rock group the Faces.
Wood met Stewart when they were employed in the Jeff Beck Group in the late 1960s. Prior to that Wood had been in bands in the London mod scene: The Birds, who dissolved in 1966, and - very briefly - The Creation.
Wood is an accomplished artist (painter), he collaborated on numerous all-star musical projects and recorded several solo studio and live albums. His autobiography, entitled Ronnie, was published in 2007.
As a solo recording artist Ronnie Wood is a particularly tricky case when it comes to Last.fm stats. On the sleeves of two of his studio solo albums from the 1970s his name is Ron Wood. However, since 1980 he has put out all of his albums as Ronnie Wood.
We All Get Old

And you're wrong it doesn't matter
In the course of our lifetimes
You'll surely start running away
We'll wait and see about that
But if you don't stay with me, baby
Well, if you don't stay with me baby
When you get old
And we all get old
Time washes it in
And the high tide takes it out again
I've seen you trying to bail out
Trying to cast your stone
I seen you trying to flag that cab
But if you don't stay with me, darling
If you don't stay with me baby
I'll be right there in your mirror
When you get old
And we all get old
I may not like to be rushed ?
And I don't like to be hurt (cursed? purged?)
And you I don't like to be turned into anything
Why don't you keep my phone number in mind
Why don't you keep my phone number in mind
For I'll be right there in your mirror
When we get old
And we all get old
The song We All Get Old by Ron Wood is a deeply reflective piece that seems to reverberate with the fears of aging and the inevitable human cycle of life and death. The song begins with a verse that suggests that the singer may be right or wrong about something, but ultimately it doesn't matter. The line "you'll surely start running away" indicates that the other person in the song may not agree with the singer's views and will probably distance themselves from the singer in the course of time. The chorus of the song is a foreboding reminder that the singer will always be there, like a watching eye in the person's life whether they stay or not.
The second verse of the song addresses the nature of time and its impact on our lives. The imagery of "time washing it in" and "the high tide takes it out again" suggest that nothing is permanent, everything flows with time. The singer acknowledges that the person has been trying to move on and live their lives, but reminds them that he will always be there in their memories. The final verse seems to be a plea for the person to stay connected to the singer, as he reminds them to keep his phone number in mind. The phrase "For I'll be right there in your mirror when we get old" once again drives home the point that they will both be old one day and the only constant in their lives will be each other.
Overall, Ron Wood's We All Get Old is a poignant and slightly melancholy reminder of the fleeting nature of life and the importance of human connections beyond the physical bonds of life and death.
