Ronnie was beautiful with an amazing voice. Whenever I heard her sing I was a teen back in the sixties again. I lost part of my past when she passed away. RIP Ronnie. 😔💜

When I was a teen-ager I played a guessing game with myself, when I heard a record on AM radio I secretly predicted how well it would do on Billboard's Top 100 chart...
With "You Baby" I was sure it would make the Top 10 with no problem, BOY! was I wrong, it didn't even make the Top 100*...
For me the Ronettes had four of the greatest records ever recorded by a girl group; "Be My Baby", "Baby' I Love You", "Do I Love You", and what I consider to be their best record ever, "Walking In The Rain"...
* Well there's some constellation, the B-side of "You Baby" was "Is This What I Get For Loving You", and it did make the Top 100, it peaked at #75 {for 2 weeks} on June 6th, 1965...

Phil Spector was a genius.. even John Lennon knew it.. even Ronnie Spector knew it. I'm not here to comment on the faults of Phil Spector.. I'm only commenting on the music... And this is a classic example of the genius of Phil Spector.. and his wall of sound.. this song will stand test of time....

Jack, Since Spector was a perfectionist ,he may have heard someone play a sour note, or something else was wrong with it ( to him)?
what do you think:? timing was the problem with Chapel of love... Red bird released the Dixie Cups version of Chapel of Love three months earlier than Spector...
If it had been the other way around,maybe the\
Ronettes rendition of Chapel of Love wouldn't been released & might have been the hit.
