To The Moon
Ronnie Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Get the move on, I'll pack a lunch.
Tell my mom that we can fit a bunch
More in her car.
See if she's cool using my car.

And I can drive so fast
I turn hands into airplane wings,
Oh the things that life's made of--
They seem so made up.

And Everything seems better by the seaside,
With the sand and sun in your eyes
You're blinded dumb.
Ya you're blinded dumb.
And the fire hits the water
And the sky turns red
And it doesn't matter what was said
When days are done.
Well, let's have some fun.

I've been thinking about the day,
But you've been
Chasing the thoughts away.
Well now together
All of those thoughts will stay
Out on a beach in the half moon bay.

The old familiar 84,
It still drives like it did before,
When we'd come out here in the summer--
When we'd come back through with a sunburn
And I'd kiss you while Scott took the wheel
Because I knew just how it'd make you feel.
Our wonder years ring like thunder
Across other years. It's no wonder
That

Everything seems better by the seaside,
With the sand and sun in your eyes
You're blinded dumb.
Ya you're blinded dumb.
And the fire hits the water
And the sky turns red
And it doesn't matter what was said
When days are done.
Well, let's have some fun.

I've been thinking about the day,
But you've been
Chasing the thoughts away.
Well now together
All of those thoughts will stay
Out on a beach in the half moon bay.

On half moon bay,

On half moon bay,
I'll waste away.

Fantastic song!! There isn’t any thing he can’t do musically ❤.

I remember when I first heard this song, we had just moved into our new mobile home, I was 10, and we were waiting on my aunt and her boyfriend to come from NC with some furniture from Grandma's to put in it. I'd been sitting in my room recording music off the radio when Mom told me I needed to take a shower before they got here, so I left it recording, carried it into the bathroom with me, put it on the counter, and that song came on when I was in the shower, and something about it totally fascinated the heck out of me, I think mainly because I had no idea what he was talking about, but it's still a favorite of mine to this day.

Greatest vocalist anywhere…what a great song

IAtodd

His first non-top 40 hit in 20 years, but my fave.

mine as well, took me several google searches to finally find it, sense I hadn't heard it in years, and couldn't remember the words to it, and "LA to the moon," was turning up any and everything besides what I wanted.

Daniel Burns

this song only went to #45 on the country charts in 1992!!!

I noticed it got vary little airplay back then, then just disappeared, which I was really disappointed about. I've tried to find out what album it's on, and while it appears to be on 1 of several of his greatest hits compilations, I find it strange that you can't stream those, but you can just about everything else he's put out.

@Jessica Moss It's one of two new songs from his 1992 hits release "Greatest Hits, Vol. 3", which sadly is no longer in print.
