So I just see this on my own
Just let me go
You never saw this in my eyes before
You're moving on
You decided to go on your own
Just let me know
Moving on
So I just see this on my own
Just let me go
I got out of it to reach for more
You're moving on
You decided to go on your own
Just let me know
I'm not the reason that you came before
Moving on
The lyrics of Roosevelt's song "Moving On" convey a sense of acceptance and letting go. The singer is acknowledging that they are now on their own and no longer have the support or presence of the person they used to rely on. They ask to be allowed to move on and pursue their goals, despite the fact that the other person might not have seen this coming. The singer recognizes that the other person has also decided to move on, but reminds them that they are not the reason why the singer is also choosing to move on.
The language of the lyrics is simple and straightforward, but powerful in its message of independence and self-sufficiency. The repetition of the phrase "moving on" emphasizes the importance of this theme in the song. The use of the second person pronoun "you" in the chorus conveys a sense of distance and detachment, as if the singer is speaking to someone who is no longer within reach. Overall, "Moving On" is a statement of resilience and determination, as the singer strives to find their own way forward without relying on others.

I don't think there's a limit to how long I can play this song on loop. It's such a weirdly beautiful combination of groove and heartbreak. You can dance as well as cry to it.
