1) Root is a Czech metal legend from city of Brno founded in 1987 by Big Boss and Blackie. Root was one of the original pre-second-wave black metal bands, following in the footsteps of Bathory and Venom, while taking the genre in a more refined, less savage direction. Their style has since progressed towards a more epic, dark heavy metal sound with a clean-sung vocal approach, but their music can still be recognized as black metal at its core due to the unchanged ideology of the band. After the album Madness of the Graves (2003), Blackie left Root to concentrate on his band Cales. Blackie also played in side-project Entrails, an old school black-thrash metal band.
2) Root was the name of a Polish grunge band
3) Root is an Australian country rock band.

ASMODEUS - cups full of gold !
ASMODEUS - lust beauty wealth !
ASMODEUS - no ! it isn't insane !
The lyrics of Root's song Asmodeus paint a picture of a devilish figure who tempts people with wealth and everything beautiful. The repeated refrain of "Asmodeus" highlights the power of this evil entity that promises riches beyond the wildest dreams of mere mortals. It appears that Asmodeus fills the purse of those who follow him, cups full of gold, and manipulates them with promises of lust, beauty, and wealth. The implication is that those who are attracted by Asmodeus have fallen under his spell, willing to do anything to gain more power and riches. However, despite the moral implications of following an evil entity, the final line reassures us that it isn't insane - perhaps highlighting the common human desire for wealth and power.
The song draws on the traditional figure of Asmodeus, a demon character of Jewish and Christian mythology. Asmodeus is often depicted as a devil who tempts people with wine, women, and song, and who represents the deadly sin of lust. The song's lyrics play with this mythology, and the underlying theme seems to be the dangers of overindulgence and giving in to temptation.
