Human
Root Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Monstrosity of all monstrosities shackles with him
The madness of the spirit scrambles up

As if the flaming swords of truth
Were finishing their works of doom
Torn his entrails in two

Alegory of situations seems like panopticum
Of lost souls, lost people
Deep under the cover of disguise.

Thousands of truths, thousands of lies, thousands of masks
Angels like lighting through the night
Reveal, malform, cover

What will be the end to all

Well immortality is just a dream
Will everything return to the Womb?

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Root's song "Human" are quite cryptic in nature, with a powerful and thought-provoking meaning within. The band appears to be alluding to the idea of the daunting task of trying to understand the human condition, and attempting to unravel the madness and complexities that exist within it.

The imagery of the "monstrosity of all monstrosities" shackling the human spirit suggests a deep-seated and primal fear that exists within every person. The flaming swords of truth finishing their works of doom may refer to the idea that the truth, while potentially liberating, can also be destructive and painful, tearing one's "entrails in two".

The lyrics also explore the idea of masks and disguises, suggesting that the true nature of people is often hidden beneath layers of deception. It is suggested that there are countless truths, lies, and masks surrounding us, and that it is the job of the angels (presumably referring to those with more insight and understanding) to reveal, malform, and cover them.

Overall, the song seems to be grappling with the idea that the human condition is an enigmatic and complex subject, with no easy answers or solutions. The possibility of immortality is dismissed as a dream, suggesting that there is an inherent finality and impermanence to existence, and that everything may eventually return to the "womb" of the universe.

12:03 time stamp for myself

with an open root

if i heard this years ago with the heavy involvement to “hustle culture”.. i would be in tears

and just before this understanding of the root chakra, was just an intuition to just… wait.. not jump on anything.

right now… early into the practice… it feels so amazing/intense… just being still, while energies and feelings and ambitions and motivation (and fear) fly by you and melt off of you, like water off a duck’s back.

i know the way i live my life now is going to be completely different. i am already so at peace. thank you richard

Completely open root and this has been a HUGE learning point in my life the last years. I don’t have panic attacks anymore as I used to and now I help even fixed roots learn how to breathe, relax, and deal with stress. I do very little scheduling of my life, and don’t force myself into deadlines. I use a timer sometimes to get myself to stay with one thing at a time, since there’s still a strong default in me to jump from one thing to the next and lose focus (undefined head as well). I definitely feel the defined roots in my life and I watch how my body, my breath and my speech all start to speed up unhealthfully. That awareness helps to not lose myself in the pressure.

Well done Poebeth, it sounds like you've really got a handle on your Open Root. :)

Foreheadkiss

It’s awesome that you no longer deal with panic attacks. I’m happy for you 🎉❤

Thanks for sharing your story! I also have an open root. Your practical advice will help me remember to center myself again when I feel distracted by all kinds of things :) I had no idea that an open root has such an effect on my well-being, but luckily I discovered it now❤

@Richard Beaumont Not a handle on it, but working on it! Still a long way to go!

Ooohhh omg, yess!! I feel like I have been learning too. Do you have other tips with like feeling the stress with living with someone with defined root also?

Such valuable information. I have an Open root and I am in panic mode right now. It is so true that I often feel like I can’t deal with the pressure. I will often rush into things, try to get them done as fast as I can so that I can rest again. And then I make mistakes which send me into more panic and depressive thoughts. It’s a hard Cycle to break 😅. the “find a sense of success in something” tip is actually really really helpful. It will bring perspective into my life. Thank you very much 🙏🏻

Richard Beaumont

You are most welcome Diana. It IS a hard cycle to break, perhaps going on holiday having let go of the 'worldly' pressures, can give you a chance to start again but being watchfull of you creating the same issues. Good luck, it CAN be done :)

Thank you for this, Richard!
I have an open root and 6 other open centers.
The most pressure I've ever felt was running a grocery store during the initial pandemic panic where people were food hoarding. It was wild the level of panic I could feel, and thankfully I knew my energy well enough by then to know it wasn't mine. It was truly a beautiful opportunity to be able to feel the panic of the community rising, to transmute it within myself by calming myself down, and to be able to provide a voice of calm. I wouldn't necessarily want to do it again but it felt a bit like a crash course in working with intense collective energies 🧡

Nice work✌
