Signed to Rage Records, the band released Rhubarb, their debut album, in 1997. Local legend has it that the album even outsold the Spice Girls, the girl-band who were at the time at the height of their popularity, in Cornwall.
Their most notable track - Mr Fixit - reach the top 40 of the UK music charts during the late 90s. Other singles included Can't Keep Living This Way, which stalled just outside the top 40. The band were unlucky - just as they were tipped to break through into the mainstream, their record company went bankrupt. They were unable to get a new deal, as the fashion at the time was for introspective indie music rather than their more upbeat style, and the band eventually called it a day in 2001. However, the story does not end there, as Harry Collier, bassist/vocalist for the band, went on to form piano-led pop-rockers Kubb who released their debut album, Mother, in 2005.
Inspiration
Rootjoose Lyrics

I'm spinning in my positivity
If I reached up I could take it all
I look the same but I'm feeling ten feet tall
Oh you never know, you never know
Get up and go
Wake up to your imagination
Ride along on your inspiration
Wake up to your imagination
Ride along on your inspiration
Swimming round in the possibilities
And everything comes flowing out with ease
I walk along, but my feet don't touch the ground
You can tie me up but you can't hold me down
Oh you never know, you never know
Get up and go
Wake up to your imagination
Ride along on your inspiration
Wake up to your imagination
Ride along on your inspiration
Wake up to your imagination
Ride along on your inspiration
Wake up to your imagination
Ride along on your inspiration
Wake up to your imagination
Ride along on your inspiration
Wake up to your imagination
Ride along on your inspiration
The song "Inspiration" by Rootjoose is a celebration of the power of imagination and inspiration. The lyrics describe the feeling of being completely consumed by inspiration, as if it is something tangible that can be reached out and grabbed. The singer feels uplifted, energized, and empowered by their own creativity, and encourages the listener to do the same.
Throughout the song, the singer uses vivid imagery and metaphor to describe the experience of being inspired. They compare themselves to a spinning top, swimming in possibility, and walking on air - all ways of expressing the feeling of being free, unencumbered, and full of potential. The chorus repeats the message of the song, telling the listener to wake up to their own imagination and ride along on their own inspiration.
Ultimately, the song is a call to action, urging the listener to embrace their own creative power and use it to propel themselves forward. The message is simple, but powerful: inspiration is a force to be reckoned with, and it has the power to transform us if we let it.

Randomness Personified
I turned my back for a minute and my very young son managed to get the CD out of the rack and chew on it, damaged forever. Can't remember now which tracks those teeth got to, I think it was the last 2 or 3 tracks. I never quite forgave him really. He turns 18 this year and I'm still a little bitter lol.
