As well as singing, his performances include storytelling in the tradition of the travelling minstrel or troubadour and playing a wide range of instruments including guitar, harmonica, trombone and his own invention the 'stomping box'.

He has travelled widely performing and has released the following albums:

Again, what a treat. Rory seems so relaxed, happy to be talking with the audience without barrier of stage, stage lights and amplification. Little details of the story coming out that i’ve not heard before, and i’ve heard many of his stories many times. Seeing him smiling, making eye contact, delightful .
