In the 1990s Thomas met Trey Many through mutual friends and began playing shows with Velour 100. They recorded one EP together in 1999 and played a few short tours, during which time she met Damien Jurado and Pedro the Lion. Her fourth album These Friends of Mine, was recorded in collaboration with Sufjan Stevens who plays guitar and banjo as well as providing some vocals, and Denison Witmer.

Let Myself Fall
Rosie Thomas Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I let myself fall
I let myself fall
In love with you
There's no turning back
There's no turning back
There's no turning back
Now I picture things
Now I picture things
Wedding gowns and wedding rings
Since I let myself fall in love with you
The lyrics to Rosie Thomas's song Let Myself Fall depict the stage where the singer confesses to her lover about her emotions for him. The opening line, "I let myself fall," demonstrates how the singer has surrendered to her feelings towards him. The repetition of the line implies the depth of the emotion and how she has given herself wholly to falling in love with him. There is no turning back once she has put herself in that vulnerable position. The line builds up the suspense and symbolizes how she is taking a leap of faith.
The second stanza, "Now I picture things, wedding gowns and wedding rings," portrays how the singer is daydreaming about having a future with her lover. She has gone beyond falling in love; she is now invested in a long-term commitment with this person. The recurring theme of "letting myself fall" highlights her acceptance of the uncertainty that comes with romantic relationships. She is letting go of her fears and being at peace with whatever happens.
In conclusion, the lyrics to Let Myself Fall are an expressive narrative of a woman confessing her love and commitment to her partner. The repetition of certain phrases indicates the depth of the singer's emotions towards the person they are addressing.
