In the 1990s Thomas met Trey Many through mutual friends and began playing shows with Velour 100. They recorded one EP together in 1999 and played a few short tours, during which time she met Damien Jurado and Pedro the Lion. She then moved to Seattle to attend Cornish College briefly before deciding to focus on a solo recording career. Her appearance on the song "Parking Lot", from Damien Jurado's album Ghost of David, brought her to the attention of famed record label Sub Pop who signed her in 2000.
Her debut album When We Were Small was released on 22 January 2001. The album featured Eric Fisher (who Thomas met at performance art school in Seattle) on guitar and keyboards and Andy Myers on drums.
Fisher and Myers returned for 2003's follow-up Only With Laughter Can You Win.
Thomas released her third album, If Songs Could Be Held, in 2005.
Her fourth album These Friends of Mine, was recorded in collaboration with Sufjan Stevens who plays guitar and banjo as well as providing some vocals, and Denison Witmer.
She released a holiday album called A Very Rosie Christmas in November 2008 through her own record label.
Her 2012 album is entitled "With Love". The same year she relocated to New York City from Seattle.

Tomorrow
Rosie Thomas Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I could lose you?
If I waited,
Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow
May be too late
Birds fly above you
Love is around you
Forever, forever and ever
With you
I would follow you
Anywhere you are going to
Tomorrow, forever, always
And if you were to
Sail across the ocean blue
I would like to sail with you
I'd follow, I'd follow, I'd follow
You home
I would follow you
Anywhere you are going to
Tomorrow, forever, always
I would follow you
Oh, anywhere you are going to
Tomorrow, forever,
Tomorrow, forever,
Tomorrow, forever, always
The lyrics to Rosie Thomas's song Tomorrow express the fear of losing someone and the urgency to act before it's too late. The singer acknowledges the fragility of the relationship and the possibility of losing the person she loves, hence the repeated mention of "tomorrow may be too late." The idea of time running out is echoed in the imagery of birds flying above, reminding us of the transience and impermanence of everything.
However, the song is also a declaration of undying devotion and commitment. The singer expresses her desire to be with the person she loves "forever and ever" and her willingness to follow them anywhere, even across an ocean. The repetition of "I would follow you" emphasizes the singer's devotion and the depth of her emotions.
Overall, the song is a powerful plea for seizing the moment and not taking our loved ones for granted. It reminds us that we don't know what tomorrow may bring, and that we should cherish and value the people we love while we still can.

What if I told you
Imagine if I were to tell you
I could lose you?

In case I delayed too much
Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow

May be too late
I fear it would be too late
Birds fly above you
Birds soar in the sky over you
Love is around you
Love surrounds you
I would like to be too
I want to be part of that love
Forever, forever and ever
For an infinite and endless time
With you
Besides you
I would follow you
I'd go wherever you go
Anywhere you are going to
To any place you head for
Tomorrow, forever, always
In the distant and infinite future, and without limits or exceptions
And if you were to
In case you were to
Sail across the ocean blue
Travel across the vast and deep blue sea
I would like to sail with you
I wish to accompany you

I would pursue and track you down
You home
Until we make it home
I would follow you
I'd follow you anywhere
Oh, anywhere you are going to
To every destination you might have
Tomorrow, forever,
For an endless and infinite time
Tomorrow, forever,
For an endless and infinite time
Tomorrow, forever, always
In the distant and infinite future, and without limits or exceptions
