It feels like I'm being targeted and cursed by an outside force.

And I'm afraid
I'm scared of what's to come.

I lack the faith
I don't have the confidence and belief in myself.

For the road ahead
I'm uncertain about what's to come in my journey.

I try to follow You, but I don't know where You went
I'm attempting to follow a higher power, but I'm not sure of its whereabouts.

I go to the East
I search to the East.

I search to the West.

And still, I'm not finding You
However, I'm not having any luck in my search for a higher power.

In the North and the South
I'm searching in every direction.

I'm pursuing a higher power relentlessly.

But I know You know the way
I'm confident that a higher power knows the right course for me.

I persist in my pursuit of a higher power, with faith that it won't lead me down a negative path.

Through it all, You're making me golden
Despite the strife I'm experiencing, a higher power is leading me towards a brighter, more positive path.

So I'll stand up and face it
I'll gain confidence and strength to confront my problems.

I got a chance and I don't wanna waste it
I have an opportunity and I don't want to let it slip by.

Sometimes, grace can be a little abrasive
Acting with grace and understanding can be challenging.

But if I embrace it, it'll sharpen up my dull places
However, embracing grace and understanding will help me grow and improve areas where I am lacking.

I'm trying not to focus on how cruel the universe can be
I'm making an effort to avoid dwelling on the negative aspects of life.

I'm looking for a reason to believe I'm wrong
I seek something to prove myself wrong and provide a more positive outlook.

But I refuse to listen to
I deny certain thoughts or ideas that are detrimental to my well-being.

All the voices in my head
Negative self-talk and internal conflict.

But instead, I keep praying the words that Job said
However, I'm making the effort to remain faithful, even in times of strife.

When it hurts so bad
When my pain is intense.

When it all comes crashing down
When everything seems to be falling apart.

When we start from scratch
When we are forced to begin anew, from a blank slate.

See what we can live without
Learn about what is truly necessary for a joyous existence.

In the end, I know
Eventually, I understand.

It'll all be gold
Everything will become more positive and fulfilling.

While I wait for that
In the meantime, while I'm waiting for better circumstances.

I don't look back
I don't ruminate on past experiences that were negative.
