Rotor
Rotör Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Selamat siang, Dik. Siang, Pak
Bisa lihat surat-suratnya?
Wah... nggak bawa, Pak. Anda kami tilang!
Pada tahun 1993. Polisi serasa Izrael
Saat berlaku Uu Luujar. Siapkan ratusan ribu

Langgar peraturan. Alpa surat-surat
Hanya dua pilihan. Jutaan atau penjara
Mungkin buat si kaya tak t'rasa
Mungkin rakyat makin disiplin

Tapi si miskin makin melarat. Atau aparat makin korupsi
Mereka kecewa... Mereka protes...
Terhadap undang-undang... Kurang pertimbangan...
Apa yang akan terjadi? Trauma sepanjang jalan

Akan timbul penyakit baru. Bagi rakyat Indonesia
Pluitphobia...!

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Rotör's song "Rotor" depict a conversation between a police officer and a civilian, where the police officer asks for the civilian's documents and proceeds to fine them for not having them. The lyrics then delve into the complications and consequences of laws and regulations that leave little room for error or exception. The song touches on how the rich might not feel the weight of such laws as much as the poor, and how such laws could either make the people more disciplined or worsen their lives by increasing corruption. The song ends on a note of uncertainty, with the possibility of new diseases and more fear among the Indonesian people.

Overall, the song seems to emphasize the fallibility of laws and regulations that are meant to serve people but often end up making their lives more difficult. The lyrics also seem to suggest that people should have a say in creating and implementing laws to ensure that they work for everyone and do not cause more harm than good.

Damn guys, I need more Rotör in my lifee!!!

Melody!....What is so often lacking in newer old school sounding bands. As soon as I played the first bars, I could hear it, great guitar too. Shame the lyrics are in Finish, but I can overlook that. These guys can play very well, and can also write a good tune. It is a pity that this album will probably just be lost in space in a few years time.

hail to RotoR \m/

@SkywarpV

I reviewed this album for my site skullbanger.net Cool band but apparently they want to remain unknown. No website or much of a bio. I was told the band members are famous guys from other Finnish bands.

Nathan P I'll do it but one exists already but it is probably missing things. Not sure his many of these albums are on there. My definition of the NWOTHM may be different from yours.

@nathanp9449

I've seen them but are they made by this channel?
