Round goes the wheel of fortune, don't be afraid to ride
There's a land of milk and honey waits on the other side
There'll be peace and there'll be plenty, you'll never need to roam
When we go rolling home, when we go rolling home
Chorus:
Rolling home, when we go rolling home
When we go rolling, rolling
When we go rolling home
The gentry in their fine array, they prosper night and morn
While we unto the fields must go to plough and sow the corn
The rich they steal the power, but the glory's ours alone
When we go rolling home, when we go rolling home
The frost is on the hedgerow, the icy winds do blow
While we poor weary labourers strive through the driving snow
Our dreams fly up to glory of where the lark has flown
When we go rolling home, when we go rolling home
The summer of resentment, the winter of despair
The journey to contentment is set with trap and snare
Stand to and stand together, your labours yours alone
When we go rolling home, when we go rolling home
Pass the bottle round and let the toast go free
Here's a health to every labourer wherever they may be
Fair wages are now or never, let's reap what we have sown
When we go rolling home, when we go rolling home

This is so moving when you experience it live. He often finishes with this song - and leaves the stage with the audience continuing to sing as they "roll home". A wonderful performer!

Excellent singing, really enjoyed it. Well done Roy.

What a wonderful uplifting song I've never heard before.

Dear Roy Bailey, I have the greatest pleasure of working with Roy on many peace events. He is one of the most generous and kind people you would ever wish to meet and his singing is sublime - sung from the heart and a deep conviction of life and fairness. At these events he sometimes worked with his great pal and campaigner Tony Benn. To witness them together and have the joy of seeing their life time friendship communicated to an audience is and will always be the highlight of my career in the arts. 2007 at the Trafalgar Studios my pal and I Hazel Roy created Eloquent Protest and Roy and Tony created a unique peace event that was to grow and grow. Long may you sing and delight Roy. today is your birthday 20th October 2018. You are a legend! Your singing and what you stand for makes me believe in hope for a fairer and better future.

I completley agree - this guy was my childhood hero!! i am 26 now and was so excited when he did a kids concert at towersey this year. I took my nephew, when we got in my dad and i felt like we'd got in to see the beatles!! i'm convinced the adults enjoyed it possibly more than the kids!
