Roy was a country boy. Grew up in poverty, if I’m not mistaken. He must have worked like a dog to outdo the sixties cultural icons like Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page. To perfect and hone his craft.

Poverty marks you. Leaves you unable to psychologically escape it.

He was a shy country boy who got everything and more out of his chosen profession.

It wasn’t enough. He couldn’t escape his upbringing and his nature.

So sad.

His music is his legacy. And it’s so beautiful. So human.

"Whatever you want - you got a half hour of tape in front of you...."

Even though his story (and this piece) is dark and somewhat haunting; I'm lifted when I listen to this ....  I love the ebbs, the flows and the improvisation of just playing what he feels.

What a great player.

its dark. ? im going back into investigate. 1st 5 seconds on "youre not alone" is more along those lines. always serious and deliberate very serious. This isnt an argument just my thoughts. Maybe you never heard this one? Best-electro

To me, a certain melancholic vibe here and fighting to get out of it. A true musical master.

Greatest guitar player I have ever seen. And I've seen a hundred if I've seen one.
Thank you for sharing. Peace and blessings.
