Hey! Miss Fannie
Roy Orbison Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Here comes Fanny walking down the street
Walks so groovy and she talks so sweet
Hey Miss Fanny you sure look fine
Tell me please, won't you be mine?

Hey now Miss Fanny
Hey now please be mine
Well come on baby let's go downtown
Rock, jump and mess around
We'll hang out and raise some fun
We'll stay out till after one

Hey now Miss Fanny
Hey now please be mine

Well sugar us sweet and so are you
I'm plumb crazy 'bout what you do
My heart string it does go zing zing
Everytime you start that thing

Hey now Miss Fanny
Hey now please be mine

Well listen to me baby please
You've become my heart's ...
You've got me just wild for you
Please don't drive me crazy too

Hey now Miss Fanny
Hey now please be mine

Hey Miss Fanny, please wont you be mine
Please be mine

THIS IS WHERE ROY GOT HIS FIRST START, before The Teen Kings.

Actually his start was with the band featured here, The Wink Westerners, while Roy was still in high school. My cousin - Charles "Slob Evans" - played doghouse bass in that band (he hated that nickname, btw). I didn't know they actually recorded anything until now though (wow). It also turns out they cut a demo for "Oobie Doobie", which was actually recorded and released by Sun with Roy's second band, The Teen Kings, as mentioned. The whole bio story (w. photos) is contained in the book "Dark Star - the Roy Orbison Story", by Allision Amburn. 👍
