Crying
Roy Orbison feat. K.D. Lang Lyrics

Then I saw you last night, you held my hand so tight
When you stopped to say, "Hello"
You wished me well, you couldn't tell
That I'd been crying over you
Crying over you then you said, "So long"
Left me standing all alone
Crying, crying, crying
It's hard to understand
That the touch of your hand
Can start me crying
I thought that I was over you
But it's true, so true
I love you even more than I did before
But darling what can I do?
For you don't love me and I'll always be
Crying over you
Crying over you
Yes, now you're gone
And from this moment on
I'll be crying, crying, crying, crying,
Crying, crying, over you
The lyrics of "Crying" by Roy Orbison feat. K.D. Lang revolve around the emotions of heartbreak and a longing for a lost love. The singer admits to being alright for a while, being able to smile even though they are no longer with their loved one. However, upon seeing them again, the singer is reminded of the intensity of their love and how much they miss it. When the person leaves again, the singer is left all alone, crying and longing for what they used to have.
The song is a poignant expression of the pain that comes with lost relationships. The singer recognizes that they have been crying over their former partner even though they know they will never return. Despite their efforts to move on, the touch of their partner's hand is enough to make them cry once again. The lyrics capture the feeling of intense love and heartbreak that many listeners are likely to resonate with.
Overall, "Crying" is a powerful ballad that speaks to the emotional depth and complexity of relationships. The lyrics are honest and raw, capturing the pain and longing that can come with a lost love.

I don't think there was ever another voice who could have matched Roy singing this song. Both k.d. and Roy had such powerful voices!

@@ar3728 I'm listening to Don right now and I'll agree that he did a wonderful job with the song!! I think I like Roy or k.d.'ions better, I hear more emotion in their voi8ces all the way through the song.

One of the best duets ever produced! Two powerful voices that made this song so meaningful and timeless!

I remember when they first did that song together on the Johnny Carson show in 1987. They barely knew each other ... but wow, what a rendition with two very powerful voices. I had goose hairs all over my body listening to it. My dad was a big fan and in 1982 I bought my mom and my dad tickets To a Roy Orbison small concert venue. My dad couldn't stop talking about it... it was the best gift I ever gave him and my mom... the tickets only cost $13.50 each. My Dad died the same year as Roy Orbison in 1988.

There have been many duets. There will always, only, be one of these. Music that transends, that transports us. This pair took me somewhere with this rendition and yes, I cried the whole way. Simply sublime.

There’s another duet that’s special to me. Watch Pavarotti and Tracy Chapman and thank me later 🙏🏽
