Good To Be Bad
Royal Republic Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I can't believe my eye
I'm not the same that I was when I got here
I´ve made a dirty mess
My lord I do confess
I know I've been bad
So bad
I'm not the only one
The other kids made me do things that I don't usually do
Misunderstood, I'm the plague of the neighbourhood
And it feels so good!
So good!
If you wanna get in trouble baby I am your man
If you don't wanna get in trouble baby I understand
I swear to break my word if I can
I'm good
I'm good to be bad
So good to be bad
I do not compromise
Don't need your good advice
I'm sure I've heard it once/
I'm sure I've heard it twice
Once you play the game
Things will never be the same
Are you the one to blame?
To blame?
If you wanna get in trouble baby taht's what we do
If you don't wanna get in trouble baby that's ok too
It's my right to do everything wrong
Cause I'm good
I'm good to be bad!
Yes, I'm good to be bad
So good to be
Oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh
Oh lord come help me die
I can't believe my eye
I'm not the same that I was when I got here
To hell with all I gave!
Until I'm in my grave!
I wanna misbehave!
Oh, behave
If you wanna get in trouble baby I am your man
If you don't wanna get in trouble baby I understand
I swear to break my word if I can
Cause I'm good to be bad
Yes, I'm good
I'm good to be bad
Yes, I am
"Good To Be Bad" by Royal Republic is a song that celebrates the thrill and excitement of being rebellious and breaking the rules. The lyrics depict a character who is confessing to his wrongdoings and asking for help to die, suggesting that he has gone too far down the path of misbehaving. The singer is not alone in his transgressions, as he claims that other kids made him do things that he wouldn't usually do. He feels misunderstood and like he's a plague in his neighborhood, yet it feels so good to be bad.
The chorus of the song essentially implies that the singer is a dangerous man who can lead others astray. He revels in his bad behavior and is unapologetically proud of it. He's not looking for anyone's good advice, as he doesn't compromise on his principles. He's not interested in playing games by anyone else's rules.
"Good To Be Bad" is a fun and catchy song that celebrates nonconformity, rebellion, and living on the edge. It appeals to people who identify with being misfits and outsiders, who enjoy challenging the status quo and embracing their dark side. The song encourages listeners to be true to themselves, even if it means going against social norms and expectations.
