The Name.
"Roy" is the oldest of their songs and they all feel connected to it. But to not have any misunderstandings they needed a little addition. And then they listened to an interview with David Bowie saying that a song is never complete until there is listener - so Royseven.
The Beginning.
The Songs were ready by Christmas 2003 when Royseven played a gig before the legendary Dublin band ASLAN. After that I didn't take long for Royseven to have sold out concerts in the Irish capital. Actually they played as "Jove". Shortly after they changed their name to express the new line-up und sound.
The Band.
The band members played together in different constellations since 2000, but not until the 25th September of 2003 they found their final crew of Royseven. That was the day they first played together and they knew the chemistry was right.
The Debut Album "The Art of Insincerity".
Their acclaimed debut album sounds very dark, epic, fragile and full of melodic beauty. It deals with broken relationships and passionate love, anger and comfort, pain and hope. One can feel the intensity of the feelings Paul Walsh had when writing and recording the songs. All seems to be very honest and powerful, all based on Walsh's incredible voice.
Surprisingly Royseven did not really make it very big in Europe but Ireland, where "The Art of Insincerity" went Top20 and the first single "Crash" Top5.
Touring And New Album.
After touring through Ireland and Germany, mostly playing in small pubs, Royseven are back in the studio recording new songs. Plans are to release their eagerly anticipated second album mid 2008.

Royseven Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
when I´ve scrawled down every word you´ve thrown?
It´s hopeless when love has turned to fear,
but was I part of you – ever a part of you?
I´ll lie awake and hope you come ´round here,
to make the words that fell from your mouth disappear,
I hope you´re happy now,
I hope you´re happy now.
what makes us happy, what makes us tick,
destroy the lies and move on from this - move on.
The situation´s changed and now you´re finally gone,
you´re finally out,
this is the very last time you walk away from me -
I´m letting go.
The lyrics of Royseven's song "Older" seem to be about a love that has ended but one person is still holding onto hope. The singer says they have written down every word the other person has said, possibly referring to letters or texts. They are waiting for this person to come back to fix things, but they know it's hopeless because love has turned to fear. The singer wonders if they were ever really a part of the other person's life. They lie awake waiting for the other person to come back and undo the hurtful words they said. The singer says they hope the other person is happy now, but it's clear they are not.
The second half of the lyrics implores the other person to talk about what makes them happy and what makes them tick. The singer wants to destroy the lies and move on from the hurt. They acknowledge that the situation has changed and the other person is finally gone, but this time it is final. The singer is letting go, finally ready to move forward.
Overall, the song seems to be about the end of a relationship and the struggle to let go. The singer has been hurt and is still holding onto hope, but ultimately realizes it's time to move on.

i LOVE Keane, I've got every song from them, but this guy is not the same "thing" with it. There's no "Keane feeling" in this song. Keane is a separate world, Tom's voice is a separate pleasure, but it's good to know that they're irish. I always knew that the irish singers can be as good as Britain's stars. Or sometimes even more better. We should be a lover from Royseven is the top!!
