My Love Sees No Color

Black or white, tonight is right
Forget about whatever you've been told.
Unlock the door - unlike before - open up a window to your soul
I get down with cocoa brown - sassy red I go to town
And behold - young or old - and if I can be so bold
To let you know - I dig mellow yellow
It don't matter whatever the skin you're in
I need to feel why'electricity
The frequency - between you and me
My love sees no color
If a fool believes, just what he sees
Why can't he see the similarities
He separates - discriminates
Gay or straight-whatever the case may be
Been around - north and south - booragoon to Tennessee
Know by now - that beauty - is within and not skin deep
You should know - everybody's got a soul
Every color of the rainbow.
And time will reveal - that the way I feel
Is the way it was intended to be - each and everybody's free!
RuPaul's song "My Love Sees No Color" is a powerful anthem that communicates a message of inclusivity and love. The lyrics advocate for people to reject stereotypes and prejudices based on race, gender, and sexual orientation. The lines "Forget about whatever you've been told. Unlock the door - unlike before - open up a window to your soul" encourage individuals to open themselves up to new experiences and to look beyond the surface level differences that often divide us. The chorus emphasizes the universal nature of love, asserting that "It don't matter whatever the skin you're in / I need to feel your electricity / The frequency - between you and me / My love sees no color."
RuPaul makes it clear that he is attracted to people of all races and does not discriminate based on skin color. He sings, "I get down with cocoa brown - sassy red I go to town / And behold - young or old - and if I can be so bold / To let you know - I dig mellow yellow / Catch my flow - and every color of the rainbow." This verse celebrates the beauty and diversity found in people of all races and stresses that love can and should transcend any superficial differences.
The second half of the song highlights the harmful effects of discrimination and the importance of recognizing that "beauty is within and not skin deep." RuPaul acknowledges that prejudices exist but encourages individuals to see the similarities rather than the differences between one another. He states, "If a fool believes, just what he sees / Why can't he see the similarities / He separates - discriminates / Gay or straight-whatever the case may be." The song ends on an optimistic note, with the belief that "each and everybody's free."
Overall, "My Love Sees No Color" is a bold and empowering song that promotes acceptance and love between individuals of all races, genders, and sexual orientations.
