La Lluvia
Rubén González Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Tu y yo
Comprendemos que el amor no es
Un partido de futbol por que
Aqui nunca ganara ningu-no la partida

Tu y yo
Buscaremos el amor lo se
Pero no lo encontrare-mos no
Por q yo soy como el vien-to y tu eres lluvia

Lluvia lluvia arco iris vienes y te vas mojando mis cabellos
Lluvia lluvia arco iris vienes y te vas dejando tu recuerdo

Tu y yo

Lluvia lluvia arco iris vienes y te vas mojando mis cabellos
Lluvia lluvia arco iris vienes y te vas dejando tu recuerdo

Lluvia lluvia arco iris vienes y te vas mojando mis cabellos
Lluvia lluvia arco iris vienes y te vas dejando tu recuerdo

Lluvia lluvia arco iris vienes y te vas mojando mis cabellos
Lluvia lluvia arco iris vienes y te vas dejando tu recuerdo

Lluvia lluvia arco iris vienes y te vas mojando mis cabellos
Lluvia lluvia arco iris vienes y te vas dejando tu recuerdo

Overall Meaning

The song "La Lluvia" by Cuban pianist Rubén González talks about the uncertainty and unpredictability of love. The first stanza establishes the idea that love is not like a football game where there are clear winners and losers. It is not a competition, and it is impossible to know how it will end. The second stanza refers to the lovers' search for love and how they will never find it because they are like two opposing forces. The singer compares himself to the wind, and his partner is the rain.

The chorus describes the rain coming and going, leaving behind memories and feelings. The rain is also accompanied by a rainbow, a sign of hope and beauty amid the storm. The third stanza talks about finding love after the storm, in the calm that will follow. The lovers will live their love quietly, surrounded by the colors of the rainbow that pierce the sky.

The lyrics of "La Lluvia" can be interpreted in many ways. It could be a love song where the lovers' journey is marked by difficulties and obstacles, but they still hold onto hope. It could also be seen as a metaphor for life, where the rain represents the hardships, and the rainbow signifies the beauty that can be found afterward. Given the song's origin in Cuba, it is likely that it has a societal/political commentary aspect as the Cuban people faced a lot of hardships before and after the revolution.
