To the colour of your smile
One look at you and she flies
To that place
To that place above the clouds
A solitude for you and her
She wakes
One look at you and she flies
To that place
To that place above the clouds
A solitude for you and her
Layla
You always say you′re going away
Oh but you always will stay
Here in the lands of no return
Always will stay
Faces will come and go
Seasons will change
Oh but you always will stay
Here in the land of no return
Layla
You always say you're going away
Oh but you always will stay
Here in the lands of no return
Always will stay
Faces will come and go
Seasons will change
Oh but you always will stay
Here in the land of no return
She wakes
To the colour of your smile (your smile)
One look at you and she flies
To that place
To that place above the clouds (your smile)
A solitude for you and her
She wakes
To the colour of your smile
One look at you and she flies
To that place
To that place above the clouds (your smile)
A solitude for you and her, oh-oh
When so gently and slowly you hold me
When your kisses are printed inside
All your love and your arms they adore me
Oh I think I should stay here tonight
When the world outside is collapsing
When the journey back home is so far
All the promises that you have made me
Oh I think I should stay here tonight
When so gently and slowly you hold me
When your kisses are printed inside
All your love and your arms they adore me
Oh I think I should stay here tonight
When the world outside is collapsing
When the journey back home is so far
All the promises that you have made me
Oh I think I should stay here tonight
When so gently and slowly you hold me
When your kisses are printed inside
All your love and your arms they adore me
Oh I think I should stay
The song "Layla" by Ruba Shamshoum is a love song that celebrates the joyful and peaceful feeling of being in the presence of someone special who brings tranquility and happiness. The song opens with the woman waking up to the color of the other person's smile, which brings her to a special place above the clouds, a place where the two of them can be alone and happy. The lyrics describe the feeling of being in the presence of the other person and feeling safe and secure. The woman knows that the other person is always going to stay, even if they say otherwise, and nothing can change that.
The chorus, "Here in the lands of no return, you always say you're going away, oh but you always will stay," is a testament to the unbreakable bond that the two people share. They are in their own world, above the clouds, where nothing can tear them apart. The song emphasizes that the other person's smile brings happiness and peace to the woman, and being with them is where she wants to be.
The last verse of the song mentions how the world outside can be so chaotic and unpredictable, but the love and promises of the other person are what keep the woman grounded and safe. The woman says she should stay for the night, and the song ends on a hopeful and romantic note.
Overall, "Layla" is a beautiful and poetic love song that captures the essence of being in love and feeling safe and secure with someone special.
