Schenker is widely considered by fans to be an underrated guitarist. While he used to play a Fender Stratocaster, he is primarily known for playing Gibson Flying Vs. In the Acoustica DVD, he is seen playing a very interesting acoustic Flying V made by Dommenget, especially for him.
In an interview, he once mentioned that his goal is not to become the best or fastest guitarist, but to be the greatest composer.
In most Scorpions songs, guitar solos are performed by lead guitarist Matthias Jabs, but there are some exceptions, such Wind Of Change, Still Loving You, As Soon As The Good Times Roll, Through My Eyes, among others.
He is the older brother of Michael Schenker (who was a member of Scorpions in their early days). His sister Barbara Schenker is a regular caller on Clive Bull's phone-in show under the name of "Tallulah from Electric Parade".

WHY is everyone sitting down!?!?!?!?! heck id be like the only one there standing next to the stage headbanging throwin my arms around in the air! i wouldnt care what people would think because i actually got to see The scorpions on there Get you sting and blackout world tour which is also the farewell tour :( awesome show THE SCORPIONS RULE!!
