Referring to the fellow members of the community who share the common experiences and struggles of the hood

Admitting to times where divine help was offered but not taken due to lack of awareness or understanding

And I remember once you held me close, but I slid
Reflecting on a moment of closeness with the divine, but not fully embracing it at the time

It was somethin' that I just had to see
An experience that was necessary for understanding to fully come to light

That you wanted me to see so I could be what you wanted me to be
That the experience was intended to help me become a better version of myself

And I think I've seen it 'cause I don't feel the same
Feeling a transformative shift in perspective and understanding

Matter of fact I know I've seen it, I can feel the change
Being certain of the transformative experience and the positive impact it has had

It's strange, but it's got me beatin' down your door
Finding it astonishing, but with an intense desire to stay close to the divine

But I've never known love like this before
Realizing the profound and transformative power of love and faith

It's a wonderful feelin' to get away from the pain
Finding relief and comfort in spirituality to escape the painful experiences of life

Feeling sheltered and protected from the negativity and uncertainty of life

And the strain that I feel when I'm here is gone
Feeling relieved of the tension and pressure caused by the struggles of life when in the presence of spirituality

I know real, so I wipe away the tear, it's on
Knowing what is true and meaningful in life, and feeling empowered and ready to face any challenges that come

And I almost lost faith when you took my man
Almost giving up on faith and spirituality when a loved one passed away
