RUN (alt/rock)
Run is a hard hitting 3-piece rock band, out of Los Angeles, CA
In early 2001, Run began playing the local LA club scene. After a few years of playing, writing & recording great rock tunes in their ProTools Studio, the band got its first real break. In 2005, their first single, "Wasting Away", hit the airwaves. Run was suddenly being played on radio stations across the United States. Over 20 stations in major US markets aired the single, most of them adding it to their regular playlist. To support the single, and their full length album, "The Itis", Run hit the road. With a van, a trailer, and enough cd's & t-shirts to support themselves, the band quickly began to connect with fans across the country. After 2 years on the road, it was time to get back into the studio. In 2007 the band released its second album, "The Bitter End". Since then, the music has continued to receive thousands of Internet downloads and Myspace plays. Run's fanbase continues to grow at an incredible rate, proving the success of both albums.
In July of 2008, while on tour, the bands drummer decided to call it quits. Mike (vocals/guitar) and Darren (bass) found themselves out on the road with shows booked, and no drummer to play them. They knew that they needed a real professional to complete the formation. After about a month of holding auditions in their Los Angeles studio, Maxx Zinno (originally from Pulse Ultra and Rise Electric) joined the band. Maxx brings a solid, driving rhythm to the live show, and studio recordings. With the band now complete, more albums and more tours are just around the corner. Keep you ears open for America's new rock band. RUN.
Mike LaChance - Vox/Gtr
D. Mercier - Bass/Vox

Run Lyrics

And stand my ground to set a blaze
The path between us is here and there
Just dont forget my name
Birds in the bush have all the fun
That's why there's two instead of one
You might not know where you're headed
Just dont change your pace when you done
Burn burn
Burning bridges down
Turn turn
Turn it all around
Burn burn
Burning bridges down
What are you gonna do?
Decision of the hardest kind
My train of thought my state of mind
Whatever path I must stay true
I must believe in what I do
Steady hands the ashes fall
I've built no bridge I've built wall
As long as I beilive my word
I cannot fail, I cannot fall
Burn burn
Burning bridges down
Turn turn
Turn it all around
Burn burn
Burning bridges down
We turn it all around
Burn Burn Burn
Burning bridges down
Turn turn turn
We turn it all around
Burn burn burn
Burn those bridges down
The song "Burning Bridges" by Run touches upon the theme of decision-making, taking risks, and overcoming the fear of the unknown. The first verse talks about the courage required to take a bold step and stick to it, despite the fear of the consequences. The person singing the song seems to be determined to set their own path in life and stand up for their beliefs. The lyrics mention "Birds in the bush have all the fun. That's why there's two instead of one" which could be interpreted as the idea that the person singing the song wants to take risks and not miss out on opportunities by staying complacent.
The chorus of the song says "Burn burn, Burning bridges down. Turn turn, Turn it all around" which could mean a few things. Firstly, it might refer to the act of destroying one's past to move forward. Secondly, it could mean taking a new direction in life and not being afraid of the consequences. Lastly, it could mean accepting change and not letting fear hold one back. The second verse talks about how difficult it is to make decisions and how important it is to stay true to one's beliefs. The lyrics also implore the importance of believing in oneself, no matter what.
Overall, the lyrics to "Burning Bridges" by Run are introspective and thought-provoking. They touch upon universal themes that everyone can relate to at some point in their lives. The song encourages taking chances and believing in oneself, with the message that burning bridges can lead to a new beginning.

I remember when my dad used to play this for me, just the main strumming pattern, and sing the abc's song to me in time with the melody. When he showed me the actual song, I was blown away and loved it as a kid, and now I'm 19, trying to learn this on the guitar for him to surprise him soon. I love you dad ❤

Did you teach him anything about music? I assume yes, because a high schooler can't know it all, so...do you hear any of what he learned in your class in his music? That would be awesome.
