Those circus lights can change
The appearance of things can be altered or modified, just like the changes that can be made to the circus lights.

The sweetest stars they can fade
Even the most beautiful and magnificent things in the world can lose their charm and gradually fade away, like the sweetest stars in the sky.

Like sunsets under the waves
Fading away can be as slow and gradual as the setting sun or can be as sudden and forceful as the sinking sun under the waves.

If left in the shade
Things can lose their brightness and charm if they are neglected and left unattended or in the shade.

Those dizzy heights can wane
Even the highest places or achievements in life can lose their significance and value, like the waning of the dizzy heights one has reached.

The sun and the moon are estranged
The sun and the moon appear to be at a distance from each other and have little or no correlation just like some things in life.

Yet all of the colors at play
Despite the apparent distance between some things in life, they can still be part of a larger, colorful tapestry of experiences and events.

When you play in tune
When one is in harmony with the world, everything seems to fall in place, just like the notes of a song played perfectly in tune.

And so when I see you coming
When the artist sees the person they are addressing, they feel a sense of excitement or anticipation.

I don't know where I'm going
The artist's sense of direction or purpose becomes hazy or unclear.

But this is a light I'll follow you
Despite the uncertainty or confusion, the singer is willing to follow the person they are addressing, who represents a ray of hope and guidance in their life.

Dappled light
The light filtered and scattered by the trees, creating a speckled or mottled effect on the ground.

Fireflies
Small, glowing insects that often appear and disappear like tiny stars in the sky.

You and me beneath the sky
The singer and the person they are addressing together, standing or lying down, under the vast expanse of the sky.

Solar days
Days when the sun's warmth and light are felt strongly, and usually associated with good or active times.

Starry nights
Nights when the stars are visible in the sky, often beautifying the darkness and creating a sense of awe and wonder.

The artist and the person they are addressing being full of excitement and energy, like an electric current flowing between them.
