I love that this track was spliced and used throughout the movie in different parts. Very cool.

0:00-1:26- Diana discovers the mustard gas filled village and the dead bodies... argues with Steve and then sees the smoke in the air and leaves on horseback.

1:27-3:52- Diana talks with her mother on Themyscira and leaves on the boat with Steve.

3:53-End- Diana and Steve dance together, go up into their room and kiss.

5:13- The single lit window 😍

Now I see why this soundtrack and that memorable moment was so special. Rupert Gregson-Williams, the composer, and Patty Jenkins truly put their hearts to it. In the composer's own words:

There is a love story, but it comes from a very naive place and quite an
innocent place on both of their parts, really. Diana, she hasn't come
across a man before. And Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) — I felt that his
character had some hardships in the war. He had not known comfort and at
one point in the movie, he talks about what married people do. He tells
Diana they have breakfast together, they read the paper. She asks, "Is
that really what they do?" He says, "I have no idea," because there's
been war and his adult life has really been that way. So I wanted to
keep it naive, and also there's a scene in the middle which is the most
loving, and Patty talked to me about love. When you first get together
with someone and you are attracted to them, you aren't all over them and
"Hey, how ya doing?" You stand apart from each other and you size each
other up, and you can be a little unsure and a little scared of it.
That's the way she wanted to play it.

slowly dancing
Diana: is this what people do when there are no wars to fight?
Steve: yeah....yeah this..and other things
Diana: what things?
Steve: ummmm.....they have breakfast....
Diana: smiles
Steve: um, they love a breakfast and um they love to wake up and... read the paper and go to work..... they get married, make some babies, grow old together, I guess...
Diana: what is it like?
Steve: I have no idea
Diana: look of sorrow and concern at Steve
zoom out to the two silently swaying, then 4:02 starts.
What an endearing scene. This sweet moment, with several other brief precious scenes give this movie heart and depth.

Such earnest portrayal of longing and moment of vulnerability. Diana honestly believe she "marries" Steve after that moment, wanting to realize what he dreams of when there are no wars, but Steve will never know what it's like :(
When he closed his eyes prior to the sacrifice, I imagine Steve saw Diana's smile one last time
Strange, when the movie ends, it is the (filler) poignant, endearing scenes such as this one that keeps playing in my head, not the CGI, badass fight action scenes.

This played, too, when Diana went to look at the wall of fallen soldiers and spotted Steve's photograph. Her face says it all - Pain, Loss & Love. What could have been. What should have been. The breakfasts. The papers. Perhaps, even marriage and children. If only they had more time. But as short as his time with her was, she was grateful for the lifetime's worth of memories he had shared with her. Ugh, never been this affected by a movie since Titanic.

Gal Gadot was fantastic overall in this movie but that last scene was something else. Her face expressions combined with this soulful track screamed the emotions of that scene.

I am exactly like you, a movie never affected me as much as Titanic

Well said. That scene at the wall of pictures of the fallen was absolutely gut wrenching and heartbreaking. My eyes well up with tears every single time I watch it and believe me, I am not an emotional person. It’s very difficult for me to cry. Yet, this scene and that music bring it out of me every time. Gal Gadot did an excellent job of capturing the pain of loss without uttering a word. Just the pained look in her eyes with the slightest smile of her memories said it all.

Alice In Wonderland

You're profound. That a quality many people don't have. That a gift! To be capable of seeing beyond what it is shown. Keep being like that. Never stop!

Girl you're like me. Now I'm at peace.

I've seen the movie 4 times, and each time I cry the moment when Diana sees the death in the town caused by the gas, realizing she could've stopped it if she killed Ludendorff. That is how you do a hero's journey with emotion.

Four? Darling i dont even remember how much times i watch it

GMAN's Movie Zone IKR! My heart was aching during that scene!

4:02 got me crying the moment where they spent the night together at Diana's room and also the moment where Diana saw Steve's picture and touched the photo it made me tear up. Her first true love.
