The first chapter of Jorn Lande and Russell Allen’s collaboration, “The Battle” was unleashed in September 2005 with unanimous acclaim from fans and critics alike.
Many websites and magazines named it “Record of the Year”. It’s success made it one of the most popular releases ever in Melodic Heavy Metal, thanks to beautiful, sweeping piano and keyboards, heavy guitar riffs, virtuoso guitar solos, hooky choruses and the vocal talents of two of the finest Heavy Metal vocalists around.
Russell Allen is the singer of the American Progressive Metal band SYMPHONY X, who have released six studio albums and one live record so far. More than once SYMPHONY X received accolades such as "Best Progressive Power Metal Band Worldwide" or awards for the "Best Progressive Metal Album of the Year".
Highly rated ex-MASTERPLAN vocalist JORN LANDE has a vocal capability that is world class, distinctive, rich and spanning a large range. He is in high demand and has appeared as guest or sung for such bands as MILLENIUM, ARK, THE SNAKES and many others. He is also a well-known solo artist with six studio albums released, since the debut "Starfire" in 1999.
Once again songs were written by guitar sensation MAGNUS KARLSSON (STARBREAKER, LAS TRIBE), the second chapter aptly titled “The Revenge” is ready to be unleashed, with cover art specifically designed for this project by Rodney Matthews (DIAMOND HEAD, MAGNUM, ASIA etc.)
Heavier and with a tighter production, thanks to the involvement of Dennis Ward (PINK CREAM 69, ANGRA, PLACE VENDOME) at the mix, this album will excite the many fans who loved the first chapter and everyone who declares themselves fan of quality Hard Rock or Metal.
Never Again

It still echoes in my mind
Do not speak, just try to sleep
Rest your weary head
It's time for me to leave now
It's time to set the record straight
It's time for me to leave now, she says
The words the say, cut like razorblades
Time after time you say
Never again, you won't trust in strangers again
You pass them by, like the changing skies
Time after time you say
So full of life the waters run
Through the valleys down below
I sit and watch to clear my mind, trying to focus now
The lies have got to end now
She needs to know the truth somehow
The lies have got to end now, she says
Never again, you won't trust in strangers again
The words the say, cut like razorblades
Time after time you say
Never again, you won't trust in strangers again
You pass them by, like the changing skies
Time after time you say
The lyrics of Russell Allen & Jorn Lande's song Never Again revolve around the theme of betrayal and the struggle to regain trust. The opening lines, "Her tiny voice makes such a noise, it still echoes in my mind" suggests that the betrayal has come from a young girl. The next lines, "Do not speak, just try to sleep, rest your weary head," might indicate the guilt and remorse of the singer for not being able to protect the girl. The next line, "It's time for me to leave now," could either mean that he is leaving her after betraying her, or that he is leaving her to find the truth and set things straight.
The chorus, "Never again, you won't trust in strangers again, the words they say, cut like razorblades, time after time you say," highlights the pain and hurt caused by the betrayal. The words "trusting in strangers" imply that the girl had faith in the singer, and that he has broken that trust. The comparison of the words to "razorblades" emphasizes the depth of the betrayal and the self-inflicted wounds caused by the singer's lies. The repetition of "Time after time you say" shows that the hurt persists and that the trust will take a long time to regain.
The final verse, "So full of life the waters run, through the valleys down below, I sit and watch to clear my mind, trying to focus now," hints that the singer is reflecting on his actions and trying to come to terms with his betrayal. The line "The lies have got to end now, she needs to know the truth somehow, the lies have got to end now," suggests that the singer accepts responsibility for what he has done, and that he wants the girl to know the truth.
Overall, the lyrics of Never Again are heartfelt, emotional and relatable, conveying the pain of betrayal and the struggle to regain trust.
