The first chapter of Jorn Lande and Russell Allen’s collaboration, “The Battle” was unleashed in September 2005 with unanimous acclaim from fans and critics alike.
Many websites and magazines named it “Record of the Year”. It’s success made it one of the most popular releases ever in Melodic Heavy Metal, thanks to beautiful, sweeping piano and keyboards, heavy guitar riffs, virtuoso guitar solos, hooky choruses and the vocal talents of two of the finest Heavy Metal vocalists around.
Russell Allen is the singer of the American Progressive Metal band SYMPHONY X, who have released six studio albums and one live record so far. More than once SYMPHONY X received accolades such as "Best Progressive Power Metal Band Worldwide" or awards for the "Best Progressive Metal Album of the Year".
Highly rated ex-MASTERPLAN vocalist JORN LANDE has a vocal capability that is world class, distinctive, rich and spanning a large range. He is in high demand and has appeared as guest or sung for such bands as MILLENIUM, ARK, THE SNAKES and many others. He is also a well-known solo artist with six studio albums released, since the debut "Starfire" in 1999.
Once again songs were written by guitar sensation MAGNUS KARLSSON (STARBREAKER, LAS TRIBE), the second chapter aptly titled “The Revenge” is ready to be unleashed, with cover art specifically designed for this project by Rodney Matthews (DIAMOND HEAD, MAGNUM, ASIA etc.)
Heavier and with a tighter production, thanks to the involvement of Dennis Ward (PINK CREAM 69, ANGRA, PLACE VENDOME) at the mix, this album will excite the many fans who loved the first chapter and everyone who declares themselves fan of quality Hard Rock or Metal.
Where Have The Angels Gone
Russell Allen & Jorn Lande Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I remember all your words
You told me life could change in for the better
I shouldn't believe in what I've heard
In a blink of an eye
Everything happens
Be patient now
Where have the angels gone
Where are all the miracles they've done
Can you answer me now
I wanna know I wanna know
Where have the angels gone
Where are all the miracles they've done
Can you answer me now
I wanna know
Counting the hours I've been waiting
Counting the lies that I've been told
Am I the only one who's searching
Searching for a miracle of gold
In a blink of an eye
Everything happens
Be patient now
Where have the angels gone...
The lyrics to "Where Have The Angels Gone" speak to the universal human desire for hope and change in difficult times. The song is sung from the perspective of someone who has been promised that life will get better, but who is becoming increasingly disillusioned by the lack of tangible results. The lines "I remember all your promises, I remember all your words" suggest that the singer has been given assurances by someone in a position of authority or leadership, but is starting to doubt their sincerity.
The chorus of the song, with its repeated question "Where have the angels gone?" adds a spiritual dimension to the lyrics. The angels can be seen as a metaphor for divine intervention or help from a higher power, and their absence suggests that the singer is feeling abandoned or forgotten by the universe. The repeated line "Can you answer me now? I wanna know" reinforces this sense of desperation and longing for answers.
Overall, "Where Have The Angels Gone" is a poignant reflection on the struggle to find hope and meaning in difficult times. The lyrics capture the frustration and disappointment of someone who has been promised a better life, but is still waiting for that promise to be fulfilled.
