I always hated going into Darkwood. The soundtrack always gave me this deep sense of dread, like something was lurking in the mire, just waiting to attack.

Even today, now that I am older, I despise going through that area. It has been constructed with mastery and really makes me feel uncomfortable, even if I know that place by heart, the sense of dread, as you put it, remains. I know that nothing will come out from a corner and kill me, but I can't help but to feel watched in that place. When we were young, my brother was going through Darkwood and once he had reached the troll at the end, he got up and turned the console off and never played again because the troll terrified him.
Jesse Lindsey
God, tell me about it. I loved this game to bits as a kid, but I just couldn't stand Darkwood.
Benjamin Locks
I was absolutely terrified of them! I remember having to ask my mom to play through Darkwood and get to the Barrow Fields for me, lol.
Darrol Layman
@caveshlin For real! I damn near found Jesus when I got out of that hellhole and made it to Barrow Fields!
caveshlin
@Darrol Layman That sense of relief when you made it out to Oakvale lol. Good memories
The Son of Suns
There's just something sinister about Fable like nothing else. Sinful even. Yet it somehow manages to have fart jokes.
Molkwi
this why it's my favorite game of all time and will keep that title until the day I no longer live.
