This tune plays behind the demon door located on the Heroes Guild grounds…

A quiet little “room” with a still pond and lush foliage, some old wooden furniture scattered about, like a private reading nook carved in the earth that’d been abandoned for years.

Playing as a kid, it felt so peaceful and serene but sad at the same time…

It seemed like someone’s special magical place, but they died and it fell to disrepair.

This song always reminds me of that special little nook.

Marcus Poem
I've been around the world
I've seen a million things
I've fought in countless wars
And dined with many kings.

I've seen the northern lights
I've counted all the stars
Been in 'n' out of Saturn's rings
And started life on Mars.

I'm fluent in every language
I've tasted each cuisine
I've stayed in every palace
And lived what people dream.

I was there when it began
And I know when it will end
My only enemy is man.
Yet you are still my dearest friend.

I invented evolution
I gave you your first breath
I was there at your conception
And I'll be there at the time of death.

Listening to this song brings me happiness and sadness. I miss quality games.

There are some these days like red dead redemption or ghost of tsushima. And maybe cyberpunk will be something like this.

I think of this music and this place quite often. They remind me of the best parts of a childhood spent daydreaming. Games and books fed my imagination, letting me escape a reality I disliked, and nothing did it better than this quiet, lonely place and its melancholic theme. At the time, the feeling it described was that of an ancient and mysterious story. A story that was mine to invent. Now it feels like looking at the life I could have had if I hadn't wasted so much time alone in my dreams.

@@Nivlemus But there are so many variables. So many unknown unknowns. Do not despair for the dream, for it may have saved you from a greater nightmare.
