Adams dropped out of high school at age 16 to work in a shoe shop and make music. He formed a band named Whiskeytown in 1994; they disbanded in 1999 having released two full albums, Faithless Street and Strangers Almanac. Adams went on to put out his first solo record, Heartbreaker, in 2000. After a long delay, in 2001 Whiskeytown's third album Pneumonia was finally issued.
In 2002, Ryan contributed backing vocals on Butterfly in Reverse, from the Counting Crows album, Hard Candy; after Adam Duritz (Counting Crows lead singer) appeared on the album Gold.
Ryan is highly prolific, and in 2005 released one double album and two regular albums: Cold Roses, Jacksonville City Nights and 29, respectively. His album, 29, was produced by friend Ethan Johns (who also produced his first two albums, Heartbreaker and Gold). In between those two releases and his 2005 triple-header, Ryan released Demolition (a collection of out-takes), Love Is Hell and Rock N Roll. Unreleased studio albums include 48 Hours, Exile On Franklin Street and Suicide Handbook.
In addition, Adams worked with Jesse Malin to form the punk-rock group The Finger (under the pseudonyms, "Warren Peace" and "Irving Plaza" respectively), who released two E.P.s which were collected together to form We Are Fuck You, released on One Little Indian Records in 2003.
In 2006 Ryan went on a minor UK-tour and a minor US-tour along the west-coast and has streamed 11+ mini albums on his website, under numerous jokey pseudonyms (DJ Reggie, Werewolph, The Shit, Rhoda Ro, Ghetto Birds).
The following solo record, entitled Easy Tiger, was released on June 26, 2007. The newest and last record with his backing band The Cardinals, Cardinology, was released in October 2008 and followed by extensive touring through the UK, US and Australia.
In January 2009 he announced that he would be going on an indefinite hiatus from music. The Kindness Songfacts reports that the major reason for Adams’ temporary retirement was his struggles with Ménière’s disease, a disorder of the inner ear that wrecks havoc on hearing and balance. Adams resumed performing in October 2010, and released his thirteenth studio album, Ashes & Fire, on October 11, 2011. His now ex-wife, pop singer and actress Mandy Moore, contributed some backing vocals.

Cherry Blossom petals in the bathroom
Got something I need to ask you
Mmm' mmmmm'
Mmm' mmmmm'
Needa'
Snap back into reality stuck in a lover's mentality
We just keep on running away
Ain't it crazy how our life's have changed (So crazy)
Waking up in a different day (Different day)
Dawn breaks and the bills not paid
We don't even care the rents now late
We're just crazy bout' the love we make (Oh)
Push and pull it's a give and take (Oh)
Never even room to contemplate
It's like oh my God baby
Is It so crazy (Mmm')
I love you baby (Yea')
Is it so crazy
Ya' like oh my God baby
Is it so crazy (Mmm')
I love you baby (Yea')
Is it so crazy
We're like oh my god baby
Lay you down takin' your shoes off
Sleeping in late wearing the booze off
Damn last night was crazy
Alcohol got my mind a little hazy
Waking up next to you still spinin'
Drunk off your love cause that's what I'm sippin'
You just smile say that I'm trippin'
I'm not crazy baby I just love you
And everything that you do
Want to take you home baby wrap my arms all around you
Cherry Blossom petals in the bathroom
Know how you like it so I don't need to assume
Oh
When I hit it like this (Ugh) and we go like that(Yea)
And it sounds like this babe (Oh)
We can do it like that
Talkin' oh my God baby (Lemme' talk to em')
Is It so crazy (Is it so crazy)
I love you baby (I love you baby)
Is it so crazy
Ya' like oh my God baby
Is it so crazy (Is it so crazy)
I love you baby (I love you baby)
Is it so crazy
We're like oh my God baby
(Like oh my God baby)
Is It so crazy (Is it so crazy)
I love you baby (I love you baby)
Is it so crazy
Ya' like oh my God baby
Is it so crazy (Is it so crazy)
I love you baby (I love you baby)
Is it so crazy
We're like oh my God baby (Yea) (Mhm')
Oh you like that (all night and all day)
Okay (you can have it anyway) (Oh oh oh)
You like when I do it like that (Oh oh oh)
Just like that
Cherry Blossom Cherry Blossom petals in the bathroom
The song Blossom by Ryan Adams talks about the craziness of love and how it can make people blind. The opening lines talk about cherry blossom petals in the bathroom, which creates a tranquil scene, but the rest of the song is far from that. The lyrics start to get intense with the questioning of love and the need to come back to reality. The song portrays the conflict between being in love and the harsh realities of life, such as bills and rent.
The lyrics also contain descriptions of the physical aspects of love, such as taking off shoes and spending hours wrapped in each other’s arms. The lines “We just keep on running away” and “Never even room to contemplate” suggest a lack of perspective and forethought, as well as an avoidance of the challenges that come with being in a relationship.
Overall, the song creates a sense of desperation and confusion, reflecting the chaotic nature of love. It also highlights the euphoria and the passion that can accompany it.
