Maledictus
Donum libas
Infici mur

Maledictus bestia
Maledictus
Pater do si donas

Infici mur
Argentum aquae in tenebris
Mater's sanguine
Redemptionis risa se
Exiet exiet, flebatur a salis

Vale, vale
Infici mur
In tenebris aquae

Maledictus
Et argentum aquae
Infici mur
Et argentum aquae

Sanguine!
Sanguine

@msfasa

From the Latin:

Cursed
You like the gift
The wall is infected

Cursed beast
Cursed
Father give if you give

The wall is infected
Silver water in the dark
Mother's blood
Redemption laughed itself
He will come out, crying from the salt

Farewell, farewell
The wall is infected
In the darkness of the water

Cursed
And the silver of the water
The wall is infected
And the silver of the water

Blood
Blood!

This is possibly my favorite, if not one of my favorite parts of Bloodborne. The use of music in this area is a great subversion to your expectation.

While playing Soulsborne games it was initially creepy, and almost horrifying how the games hardly had any music in areas except for one safe zond, and boss battles. Over time it became the norm, and while it's still effective in conveying the atmosphere and loneliness in the games we become used to it.

And then here comes this fucking level. It's so strange and jarring hearing music in a level, especially knowing what the norm is. All of a sudden we're thrusted into a situation in which the use of music is incredibly eerie and out of the norm for us. Coupled with the fact we know that in Soulsborne games music is omly used for important moments, the first visit to Yhar'hargul is fucking horrifying.

Whoever decided to put in this music piece in this level at the time you go to it is a fucking genius. I still can't get over how it subverts our expectations, which were already subverted by the lack of music playing in Soulsborne games.

This part was just genuinely horrifying for me by how strange it seemed for music to be in a level by itself.

This theme is just perfect. Being kidnapped by those insanely scary death dealers and waking up in a dark cell, hearing this soundtrack. I almost felt sick, like waking up in an actual nightmare.

Nosferatu Zodd Don't know if it's just me, but I can definitely hear "Maledictu" as the first word the choir sings. Translated from Latin it means "cursed" and if you add an M it becomes "railing", both would make sense since you're in a cell. Also at 1:16 it sounds like "Redemption is our sin/slave"...But that one might just be me.

@Brutalearll

Nosferatu Zodd by what you have just said, the games atmosphere must be insanely amazing!! i will so have to get this, but i HATE dark souls, not the difficulty, the endless backtracking

@katarina7551

Brutalearll Yeah, that can be a turnoff for some people. Although, there's not much of it, except in the beginning. Or...At least I can't think of an example right now.

@Brutalearll

Revolver Oshawott ive heard its easier, but the challenge isn't my turnoff, the cheap deaths and how enemies weapons can clip through walls and not be considered broken, just stupid development, as that's whats really unfair about the game(s) cheap clipping and deaths

@katarina7551

Brutalearll You MUST be taking about Dark Souls II. I mean sure, Dark Souls had SOME cheap tricks up it's sleeve, but there was ALWAYS a way to counter them. Also, I can't really remember any enemy that killed me through a wall. In Dark Souls II, however...

It's at this point that the player realizes that this is more than a simple plague outbreak, something of immense and dark power is at work here.

***** yeah play though it 4 times still don't get it.

@TheDustyMuffinsss

Jack Pewitt Evil alien gods are getting closer and closer to Yharnam, and just being near them causes people to go insane or turn into horrible creatures. The blood they've been infusing themselves with is actually from one of these horrible creatures from space. There's more to the story than that, but that's the basic jist. The moon isn't that close just because it looks cool.

@thejudge4421

TheDustyMuffinsss  I gathered that much but why? there are so many other questions I have that are unanswered
