Cabrera was born in Dallas, Texas to a Colombian father and an American mother. He graduated from Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas in 2000, and went on to attend The University of Texas at Dallas for a year. While in college, he was the lead singer for the popular Dallas band Rubix Groove performing in such venues as Trees and The Gypsy Tea Room. In 2001, Cabrera went into the studio to record his own independent album, Elm St.
He is managed by Joe Simpson, manager and father of pop singers Ashlee and Jessica Simpson. In November of 2005 he had been romantically involved with Australian singer Lisa Origliasso, one-half of The Veronicas, but recenty have called it quits. He is an understudy to Randy Newman, who was quoted in 2004 as saying, "I never thought I would find anyone with talent like mine...then I found Ryan." He used to host a reality dating television show on MTV, called "Score!" that was recently cancelled. His current project is playing the part of "Rickie" in the upcoming film My Sexiest Year.

I don't think she showed brilliant deductive and tactical skills.
She could think quick on her feet. The last minute lying about Fran to induce Ransom to confess was brilliant. She thought fast to cover up clues which could incriminate her. Wiping out the tapes, walking over her own footprints to cover them. All were done pretty quick. On the spot.
She has quick thinking. But she didn't show any inclination to sleuth work.
I am looking forward to a new cast. This genre is good for that.
However, your idea could be fun.
Watson wasn't that brilliant either. I loved Ana De Armas here. And it was fun watching her and Daniel Craig. Its not like she needs to work anymore. She owns a fortune now.
Keep the house. Invest the money in some safe assets so that you don't feel the need of money and don't throw it away in risky ventures.
And give the publishing house to someone else to run on your behalf. She would suck as a business head/honcho. Can you imagine running a business when you can't lie even once? Give it to someone like Lucius Fox. The guy runs Wayne Enterprises for Bruce Wayne who doesn't have to worry about business while punching Joker.
I don't think it fits the character of Marta as established in the movie. But it could be fun.
I don't think this is ever gonna happen. She wouldn't even make a cameo if it won't fit.

I've watched this movie 4 times now. Each time I've rewatched this movie I've picked up on new Easter Eggs, foreshadowing, etc. If you pay attention to details the movie can be quite revealing. Which I really love!
For example, Richard actually exposes himself cheating on his wife by throwing the baseball out the window when looking for the hidden letter that Harlan wrote. Next, later on, as Blanc and Marta are combing the mansion for clues he throws the baseball for the dogs in the yard but instead, they return the broken lattice, leaving the baseball out in the yard. Finally, near the end of the movie we see Linda returning the recovered baseball to her late father's study. There she finds the letter open and thus revealing Richard being a cheater. Full circle. Like a donut hole within a donut...
Also, when Ransom is first revealed to us the dogs are barking at him and jumping on him like crazy. The same testimony we are told that when the dogs were heard barking late at night from when he came back to mess with the medicine bag.
Finally, you can also see the painting of Harlan change from having a stoic/concerned look (when Marta is looking at it before her interview with Blanc), and then when the mystery is solved at the end of the movie we can see Harlan smirking/smiling.
These are just some of my favorite ones that I noticed! Others include the foreshadowing of the stage prop knife from Harlan and then Ransom stabbing Marta with a "stage prop" knife and the family getting Marta's nationality wrong every time they mention where she is from.
I believe this movie was wonderfully written and shot. I can't wait for the second one to come out!

Gotta say: I loved the foreshadowing for this scene. Remember how Harlan said in the beginning of the movie that Ransom wouldn’t know the difference between a prop knife and a real one?

I literally just realized that besides that bit of foreshadowing. We also got the juxtaposition between him and Marta. Because Ransom couldn't tell the difference between a lethal knife and a prop knife. But Marta could tell the difference even without reading the labels, which was the correct medicine and which was the morphine!
