Hello Darlin
Ryan McMullan Lyrics

Hello Darlin, pleased to meet you
Saw you standing in the line
I can tell you think I′m crazy
From that look in your eyes
I'd like to take you out this evening
If that′s alright.

We could talk about the weather
We could talke about the time
About the stuff that doesn't matter
Hell, anything is fine
If you have nowhere else to be, dear,
Would you make my night?

All that I want is a chance just to realise
Maybe it's something
Or maybe it′s not,
We′ve got nothing to lose
So let's give it a shot
You can walk away, without giving it a thought
This could be nothing, but this could be love.

There′s a place around the corner
It's their karaoke night
You′ll be June and I'll be Johny
And we can walk the line
But I′d rather sing The Beatles,
If that's alright.

We can stay up till the morning
See the sun light up the sky
Hide from all the early risers
And their judgy eyes
You can't say it doesn′t sound like
A good saturday night.

All that I want is a chance just to realise
Maybe it′s something
Or maybe it's not,
We′ve got nothing to lose
So let's give it a shot
You can walk away, without giving it a thought
This could be nothing, but this could be love.

This could be love
This could be nothing.

You might′ve only came for coffee
Or you might have other plans
Heaven knows that I'm a chancer
Trying to take your hands
I understand that we are strangers
But let′s set tonight on fire.

All that I want is a chance just to realise
Maybe it's something
Or maybe it's not,
We′ve got nothing to lose
So let′s give it a shot
You can walk away, without giving it a thought
This could be nothing, but this could be love.

Maybe it's something
Or maybe it′s not,
We've got nothing to lose
So let′s give it a shot
You can walk away, without giving it a thought
This could be nothing, but this could be love.

This could be nothing, but this could be love.
This could be nothing.

on If This Is The End

This song is probably the saddest song ever written. I first heard it after a dear friend lost her significant other to Covid. She couldn't visit him. He would call her and beg her to come see him. He was hospitalized for 30 days and passed away on the 31st day. I'll never forget the sound of her voice when she called to tell me. She couldn't speak but I knew. I cannot listen to this song without thinking about their situation. And I cry every time.
