We all came out to Montreux
We, a group of musicians, traveled to Montreux.

On the Lake Geneva shoreline
Montreux is located on the shoreline of Lake Geneva.

To make records with a mobile
We traveled to Montreux to record music using a mobile recording studio.

We didn't have much time
Our recording schedule was short and we had limited time to complete our work.

Frank Zappa and the Mothers
Another group of musicians, Frank Zappa and the Mothers, were also present in Montreux.

Were at the best place around
The venue where Frank Zappa and the Mothers were performing was the most popular in the area.

But some stupid with a flare gun
Unfortunately, someone foolishly brought a flare gun to the concert venue.

Burned the place to the ground
The flare gun caused a fire that burned down the entire concert venue.

Smoke on the water, fire in the sky
After the fire, smoke and ash rose into the sky and covered the lake, creating a striking visual scene.

They burned down the gambling house
The concert venue also doubled as a gambling house, which was also destroyed in the fire.

It died with an awful sound
The destruction of the gambling house was accompanied by a loud and unpleasant noise.

Funky Claude was running in and out
A man named Funky Claude was frantically entering and exiting the burning venue to help rescue people from danger.

Pulling kids out the ground
Claude was specifically focused on rescuing children who were trapped in the building.

When it all was over
After everything was said and done, we were left with nowhere to record our music.

We had to find another place
We scrambled to find a new location to record our music.

But Swiss time was running out
We were under pressure to find a new venue quickly because we had a limited amount of time in Switzerland.

It seemed that we would lose the race
We were worried that we would not be able to record our music in time and would miss our opportunity to do so.

We ended up at the Grand Hotel
Ultimately, we found a new recording location at the Grand Hotel.

It was empty cold and bare
The Grand Hotel was vacant and uninviting when we arrived.

But with the Rolling truck Stones thing just outside
We were inspired by the Rolling Stones' mobile recording studio, which was parked nearby.

Making our music there
We were able to make music at the Grand Hotel despite the less-than-ideal conditions.

With a few red lights and a few old beds
Our new recording location was modest and rudimentary, consisting of just a few old furnishings.

We make a place to sweat
Despite the limitations, we worked hard and put in a lot of effort to create our music in that space.

No matter what we get out of this
Regardless of how our recordings turn out, we shared an unforgettable experience.

I know we'll never forget
The memories and emotions from that time will stay with us forever.
