(에스이에스; initialism for Sea, Eugene, Shoo) was a South Korean girl group trio formed by SM Entertainment in 1997, consisting of members Bada (바다, known also as Sea), Eugene (유진), and Shoo (슈). In their early years, they were also known as the female counterpart of H.O.T., and raised phenomenal popularity at the time.

S.E.S. is considered one of K-pop's first highly successful girl groups. They were challenged by groups like Fin.K.L and Baby V.O.X, which debuted soon after S.E.S. and also enjoyed success.

The group's end came because of contract expiration of members Bada and Eugene in 2003, though Shoo eventually also parted ways with SM Entertainment in 2006. S.E.S. officially disbanded in mid-2003, after the release of the compilation album Beautiful Songs, though they had been inactive since 2002, when they released their last original single S.II.S (Soul To Soul), from the greatest hits album Friend.

In subsequent years, the former members ventured into solo music activies and also acting, to varying degrees of success.

In October 2016, it was publicly announced that the trio would be returning to the music scene to celebrate their 20th anniversary since debuting with the album I'm Your Girl. After releasing the buzz single Love [story], a remake of their 1999 single Love, through SM Entertainment's digital project SM Station on November 28, their special album Remember was announced, scheduled for a January 2, 2017 release with double title tracks Remember and 한 폭의 그림 (Paradise).

First generation is amazing, second generation is the best overall, third is when it became a global phenomenon and fourth Gen is amazing so far but the newer boy groups are struggling while the girl groups keep pumping out hit after hit.

Hay varias cosas que apreciar en este hermoso video, las voces, la estética, que sea al aire libre y no en un estudio y el vestuario, no había necesidad de enseñar tanta piel, ahora hay idols que no pueden ni bailar cómodamente por la ropa, en especial las chicas.

The first SM girl group. I always loved S.E.S. Shoo is my bias, but they are all incredible! ; ) They did extreme close-up facial shots during 1st gen which we don't see as often nowadays--it really takes flawless visuals to pull off the extreme close-ups so well!

Definitely my favorite 1st gen K-pop group. Their songs are so addictive. Eugene is the original visual, no K-pop idol can even think about beating Bada’s vocals and even Shoo, who isn’t a main dancer or main vocalist, is much more talented than many new and younger idols.
