S.E.T. Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

7 Days in
Yea 7 days out
Im a get it popping
You ain't gotta doubt
1000 Dollar purse
Because your love has no amount
Yo Ex flexing money
I don't know what thats about
I just put 0s
On 0s in my account
Gotta put it down
Gotta make my time count
She keep saying period
I don't know what thats about
This just my style
Don't compare my s*** to clout
Been in it so long
Oh I can't stop now
Every time they seen me
Yea they know what I'm about
7 Days in
Yea 7 days out
Im a get it popping
You ain't gotta doubt
And f*** all yo boys
I ain't worried about a scout
Always chase a check
So no time to sit and pout
Thats yo phone number
No its just the account
I get profit off my therapy
Get paid to let it out
This my 3rd wood
Think I might green out
Llife got me down
Its been putting me out
Just ask for a chance
Through the ball down my route
Promise I won't drop it
Oh I will figure it out
7 Days in
Yea 7 days out
Im a get it popping
You ain't gotta doubt
1000 Dollar purse
Because your love has no amount

Yo Ex flexing money
I don't know what thats about

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of S.E.T.'s song "Seven Days of Falling" seem to be about the hustle of making money and success. The opening lines of "7 Days in, yea 7 days out, I’ma get it popping, you ain't gotta doubt" suggests determination to succeed and not letting anyone doubt their ability to do so. The line "1000 Dollar purse because your love has no amount" indicates the idea of having a successful career to be able to afford the luxurious things in life, rather than solely relying on love. The lyricist dismisses the idea of an Ex flaunting money, saying "I don't know what that's about".

The lines "always chase a check so no time to sit and pout, that's your phone number no it's just the account" suggest that the focus is always making money and not worrying about anything else. This is further evidenced by the line "get paid to let it out" indicating that the artist may be expressing their inner and personal feelings through songs to gain fame and money. There is also a sense of persistent hard work in the lyrics throughout; "Been in it so long, oh I can't stop now" and "promise I won't drop it, oh I'll figure it out". The repetition of the chorus "7 Days in, yea 7 days out, I’ma get it popping, you ain't gotta doubt" reflects the theme of consistency in the pursuit of success.

VINNIE!!

Ayo what a surprise!

@BigBlackBe4r

Can we all agree on Master Colaiuta?

@kmb1

This is an absolute pop masterpiece. But it's also one of the greatest recorded drum tracks in pop music history. A doctoral dissertation could be written on Vinnie's performance.

@kennyj43

Mr. Colaita is, indeed, one of the very best in the business. Creme de la creme. Makes the technically challenging look like child's play. There are only a few songs, especially in pop music, where the drum parts are so intricate and so central to the structure and fabric of the song as it is here. A masterpiece, indeed.

@freebee8221

Sting is blessed to have worked with such awesome drummers. This guy is almost as good as Copeland

@TheThatsnasty

@@freebee8221 You mean Copeland is almost as good as Vinnie?
Love Copeland, but, we're talking probably the best alive, versus top 10, maybe top 5.

@shanehill2411

Joni Mitchell, Steely Dan's Walter Becker and Don Fagin -and Sting -the greatest songwriters of ALL time.I have grown up with Stings musicians as I have grown wiser and more subtly as a person -so has Stings alchemical grace and beauty -a joy .Thank you Gordon!

@DrumsTheWord

Not one note overplayed. Every hit intended. Perfect for the song. And yet, we are floored. Vinnie the master drummer.

@MikeMo900

One of my all time favorite songs. Ten Summoner’s Tales was so beautifully composed, a timeless masterpiece really.
