He will get it. Our Creator is a God of justice and He promises that NOTHING will go unpaid. He will punish ALL evil after the great Judgement Day, which of course is wonderful news but also terrifying for all of us as well.

God's standard of good is so incredibly high, He says all LIARS, thieves, blasphemers, homosexuals, kidnappers, etc. will have their part in the Lake of Fire, where the fire is never quenched and where the worm never dies..
That's how high His standard of righteousness is and we ALL fall short of it.

The great news comes in Jesus Christ, Who is God in human flesh, Who took OUR PUNISHMENT onto Himself when He died a terrible death by crucifixion, taking His Father's wrath all onto Him.

IF we want to take this free gift of salvation, we are commanded to repent (turn from our sin) and put our trust in Jesus Christ, which all happens supernaturally!
We are then given a new heart with new desires and the ability to please God while we're still alive in these mortal bodies.

Looking forward to getting my new body after this one dies so I can praise my Lord without hinderance!

She said "I want you to know that there is nothing you could do to make me not love you and protect you. And if anyone ever says 'do this or I'll kill your mom' don't listen to them!"

Otherwise if anything like this happens to your daughter you will regret it and punch yourself for not telling her basic self defense tactics. She will thank you for telling her this. But it is very important that you do discuss difficult things like this with your kids because once it's too late it's way too late unfortunately.

Idk if you have ever seen the movie irreversible but there is a pretty bad scene between the main actress and a man. He spent time with her prior to doing that scene to guage her reaction n when she was actually too scared, get comfortable with him etc. Even when u know it's fake it's traumatic..couldn't imagine living it. It messes with the actors playing the monster n the victim so that says a lot for real people who do this stuff. Seeing the reenactment of your own life again. Idk how Coleen did the interviews and whatnot. Yes the two have nothing to do with each other just example of the effects even when it's not reality so living it is unthinkable

I have heard how there are otherwise intelligent viewers who forget they are watching an actor playing a role, and feel he is as evil as the character he is pretending to be. I watch Lifetime movies about domestic violence based on true events and how actors taking on the role of a rapist, murderer, or pedophile have their good characters sullied because of it. I can understand why the actor portraying Cameron was determined to prove to everyone that he was not Cameron but only an actor playing him.

Me too. I would have likely lost hope very quickly. Then again, I'm thinking of that now in my late 30s. At 19, I probably would have had a more clever and much more feisty spirit and would have done a lot to fight through it. If I try hard, I can imagine myself bearing with it long enough to find a chance to escape. I can't imagine that I'd break to the point of not trying to escape as soon as the opportunity arose, though. Then again, torture and coercion can change the way people react to false information ("the company") in real, if bizarre, ways.

Words to live by! It's so unfortunate because I think a family would be the "safest" option for hitchhiking from anyone's point of view... In the 70s aswell I don't think anyone really expected a woman with a baby to allow harm to come to you, that was shocking. Now a days we definitely know that woman can and do often kidnap children :( I've seen a lot of stories from back then where this was all too common, it's a very common tactic or at least it was (using a woman or a child to look safer)

this case reminds me a lot of Genie’s. she was a girl who was imprisoned by her parents from pretty much the moment she was born, until the police eventually found her and rescued her when she was 13. her case is truly heartbreaking, she was kept in the basement, in pitch dark, where she wasn’t given any social interaction except for the few times when her parents would give her food or water. she wasn’t allowed to walk, and was strapped on to a toilet so that she never had to. when police found her, she had the mental capacity of an 8 month old infant; she couldn’t read, speak, or walk, and didn’t even know how to control her bladder, because she never had to. she was able to develop some speech abilities after lots of work with a psychologist, but she had been neglected so much during her formative years that she never fully reached a normal level of development.

I first heard about this way back in early 89 when I was 19. I was reading a feature article about it in a Brisbane (Australia) Sunday newspaper.

The article was "My Life In A Box'
I thought "what the hell is this" ? and I read it. Two pages long and it was disturbing af. Had pictures too. I thought about it for a week after.

People were even complaining the following Sunday in Letters to the Editor about why the paper would publish this shockingly horrific information. Some people said however that it was the right thing to do because the general public needs to know that such evil people exist.

I understand the brainwashing part so much. I had a boyfriend who thought I was having sex with everyone and anyone I happened to look at. I got so used to keeping my head down because of the abuse that to this day I have a hard time looking at people when I speak to them. I was so traumatized that I kept my head down even at work when he wasn’t even there. I used to be terrified he would know or find out I looked at or spoke to anyone. I haven’t been with him for years. It still bothers me that I can’t get over it. I was never the same even years later. Makes me so sad. So I really get Coleen and why she didn’t run when she had chances, and she went through far, far worse than me.

So hunny you probably are aware of this by now, that's a common trait with abusers. Typically if they accuse you of cheating it's because they have been cheating on you constantly. I read the book The Girl In The box when I was younger and I remember thinking that Janice was a willing participate but after watching this I've learned a lot more. After pondering it & thinking she could have at any given point gone to the police I began thinking about her upbringing & how she went straight into this relationship with this man. All that this woman ever knew was it she had no value and that she existed for the sole purpose of being abused and that she had no power and that's how life was. She never experienced or saw that she had the power to walk away or to defend herself until we lived through something we don't know either about it or how to execute it or that it applies to us. When Colleen walked out that door Janice for the first time in her life saw and learned that she can walk out the door and defendants stand up for herself and the other women. I understand that it was her jealousy that started the path to the ending of the story but that's a natural human emotion that is not learned it just exist in US so that's not an offense against her it is the saving grace of God that propelled the freedom of all of these women. In my mind Janice develop Stockholm syndrome at a very young age and that her whole existence was walked out in that mindset and she knew nothing different. I believe that she was entitled to that immunity thousand times over. In my humble opinion.

I think Janice was a victim of life in general. She was raised to obey and be abused and then married off to someone who kept that going. Her mind never had a chance to even develop an understanding that what she was doing was something messed up because that was her normal. It’s possible she might have realized it was messed up and evil but if you think about it, her entire life was an evil mess from the beginning. She was the slave from the start and you can’t expect a slave to disagree or fight back against their evil oppressor, you can only hope they will. Janice couldn’t have stopped any of this. She was psychically capable of going to the police but she was never mentally or spiritually capable of doing that for the same reason Colleen didn’t leave during a jog. The difference being Janice had been in a slave mentality since she was a child. To me, people should be judged according to their actions as her own right. She had no rights and the one who possessed her rights is responsible for her actions. Its like if you’re forced to shoot someone while someone else holds a gun to your head. Some might rather die, but many would except that their right to not shoot has been taken away. The one forcing them to do it is the one truly responsible for this death that is about to happen. Had she been raised different or not gotten married to an abusive psychopath, she might not have done anything like this to anyone. But because she was dealt this hand, she made decisions that were basically her husband’s decisions. He was the one who owned her rights. Full immunity wasn’t a good punishment for her part in all of this, but I don’t think prison would have been right either. To me, it was manipulated self defense. What Janice needed was to be place in a mental institution until she develops her own moral code and learns how to be a person that can choose based on her own mentality. She was the first slave that had been crafted into a monster by a psychopath. And Coleen was the second slave that was able to mentally fight back. Prison would not have been justice for Janice’s situation. It would have been a waste of her life even further than what was already wasted.

The interview with Colleen at the end was amazing. It’s not often these sorts of cases have “happy” endings but I LIVE for them. They make the world seem somewhat ok again. With Janice, I feel a lot of compassion for her. She’d been mentally abused as a child by her family so when Cameron came along he gave her all the ‘love’ (sick & unhealthy as it was) that she’d always wanted. This is how victims get groomed. Then she went into pure survival mode. Especially since becoming a mother, I assume that she was, in a weird way, trying to protect herself and her family. And since she knew he was capable of unspeakably sick acts (murder, rape, torture) etc. she did the only thing that she thought she could do to protect her kids. I’m not mad that she got full immunity, but I would have preferred her to have some form of punishment. Although one could argue that the crippling guilt & shame is punishment enough. God will judge ultimately. I hope Cameron never gets out, how can you sentence someone to 104 years and release them when they haven’t even served half?! I also pray for the children, and Colleen and her family that they find peace and clarity. Love your videos and your compassion! 💜

It is a hard, heavy story, but it was refreshing at least to have a story where the victim had a positive outcome. She seems like she's done a lot of work toward her healing and has moved on to a fulfilling life, and that gives me hope.

I’m actually quite relieved. When you said this was one of the worst cases you ever covered, I was certainly not expecting a relatively happy ending. I’m glad she survived and even more glad that she thrived afterwards!
I don’t judge her for anything. It’s definitely frustrating that she didn’t leave the first chance she got only because WE know the truth. You just want to be standing beside her in that moment and tell her what’s going on. You just think of how many years earlier she could have gotten away. I’m just glad she did in the end though.
As for Janice, she definitely should have been charged with something. She definitely was a victim in the beginning and probably brainwashed later on. I don’t think she’d do something like this on her own so most likely isn’t a danger. But STILL. She did participate and did become a predator herself at some point.

This is a very disturbing case. It is really frightening what humans are capable of. In my home country we had 2 very prominent abduction cases where in one case a school girl was abducted for 8 years (Natascha Kampusch) and the second one where a father abducted/imprisoned his daughter for 24 years (Josef Fritzl). The second one is probably the craziest story of that kind that I have ever heard of.

Question: How was Janice a victim? Apart from in the beginning when she was groomed, she was a willing participant the entire time. Why are we making excuses? If a man whipped me and raped me why the fuck would I continue to go out with him? Why, because he gave her gifts after? Then she was accepting payment for her services then. She enjoyed it. janice is both a victim and an enabler. janice being groomed and also her strict upbringing made her feel 'loved' even if he abused her. like you said he groomed her. he manipulated her by making her think everything about their relationship is normal. when janice willingly agreed with cameron kidnapping another woman. that's when she became a enabler. by now, she stood up to herself so, she would know that she did not like what cameron was doing to her but the fact she agreed to making another girl experience the pain she did made her responsible.

Stockholm syndrome is a real thing. The brain reacts in strange ways when you are abused then love bombed after. It’s the same reason women stay with abusers. Hard to imagine I know. But I was in a situation like that and I never thought I’d be the type to stay but abuse and trauma are insidious.

As a former hitchhiker there is HELLA crazy shit that happens during it and yes you get creeps that pick you up but man the ones who are genuine and helpful make it all worth while I swear. I've heard many life stories in the back of someone's car riding to the next city..... Actually was allowed to drive a big rig once from a trucker who gave me a ride lol it was dope, but stories like this (and some I have) are EXACTLY why you always carry mace and a taser or a weapon of some sort. You don't realize how much mace can save a life until it does..... It's really hard for someone to control a situation when they can't see or breathe cause I'll spray that shit right in their throat lol. Also as far as the thumb comment yes sometimes you use the thumb trick but you have to be careful if you're walking and doin it cause a cop may pull up and not be a cool one. I lucked out and got stopped by a few cool cops who gave me a ride to the next town. Heck one of the cops gave me snowball cakes and water 😂😂😂 bless his heart.

This is obviously one of the most heartbreaking and exteme abduction cases in history, but Coleen SURVIVED!! - What an incredible woman- WOW!!! . This is not a story about an evil sadist (f**k his story) this is the story of the unfathomable strength, courage and survival of a true heroine. Coleen is the person I will remember and draw strength from in my low times, I will have forgotten him in 5 minutes.

I'm subscribed to a lot of True Crime YouTubers and while all of them are respectful, I think Danielle has a way about her that makes me feel like... she isn't sharing this information to be an entertainer, she is absolutely heartbroken for the victims and wants the rest of us to know about what they went through. Part of me expects her to eventually end a video by saying she is going to become a detective to help people get justice. She is just so passionate and caring!

i’m with you on the picture. i think it’s so unsettling because most of the time it’s like a picture before everything went wrong, a picture while someone is being tortured, or the psycho taking a family picture after a murder. this picture perfectly captures the psychological abuse and the person taking it didn’t even know.

These stories like this are my worst nightmare. I feel so horribly for her and can usually not listen to a lot of these stories. I really hope his prison life was miserable. Even though it can't even be close to what a living hell he put this poor woman through. She is so full of strength.

I'm a survivor of human trafficking. Most don't live and their remains are not found so there's just a lot less of those cases TO talk about! Then, you'd also be surprised ( maybe? ) but no matter how much horror you've endured its human survival not to just be a traumatized person but also just as much the desire to survive and move on. So survivors may not be able to or willing to share their stories. As far as how our stories turn out it's mostly about whether we have support, understanding, and people who want better futures for us. Because... it's a lot. Health is usually poor as well.

I read Perfect Victim and followed Colleen's seven-year journey through Hell at the hands of Cameron Hooker. I thought he had the perfect last name based on the connotations the word hooker brings to mind. It has been a long time since I read the book that I no longer possess to recall how it portrayed his childhood. I recall how he talked Janice into letting him strip her naked while they were in the woods and hang her from her wrists just as he later did to Colleen. I was deeply thankful Colleen was a strong and resilient woman at a young age (she was only a year after her teen years when she accepted a ride by Cameron and Janie Hooker) to be able to survive her ordeal and go on to make a wholesome life for herself. I do get annoyed when accounts of abducted women always include Patty Hearst but none include Colleen Stan whose captivity was so much worse. My opinion of Janice is the same after watching your gut-wrenching video as it was after I read Perfect Victim. Janice was instrumental in freeing Colleen from Cameron's powerful hold on her when she told her the Company never existed and that she could leave whenever she felt like it with nothing bad happening to her family as a result.

Amazing what we are capable of surviving …Coleen is a really strong lady … and the physical and mental suffering she endured over such a long time is truly horrific and unbelievable …
With regards to Janice?… well some say that Myra Hindley was a victim of Ian Brady - but together they became the Moors Murderers … together they were evil.
Janice was just as culpable as her husband… and yet she faced no justice?
I can only imagine how the British public would have reacted had Myra Hindley been given the same treatment?….

The reason he retracted her privileges after he let her see her family was because it was a further form of torture. He gave her a small amount of hope/light, then took it all away. I also believe his wife might have been a little jealous, worried that he was gaining feelings for her.

I’m struggling with her having freedom and NEVER running away and visiting her family and still keeping quiet ! Janice is 100% a victim but what she did isn't forgivable it reminds me of when people who were SA'd do the same thing to other people. Since she was 15 when she met him she was groomed I think a 10 or so years in a psychiatric hospital is what she needs seeing as she's also gone through trauma. I am glad she did the right thing even if it took her 7 years.

Since you said he would be up for parole in 2022, I looked him up and his next trial date is at the end of this month. It's ridiculous that he's being considered for early release. But then again from watching your youtube and Baily Sarien's channels - so many criminals have been able to take more lives because of their early release from prison.

I would like to see someone cover her daughter's story. This poor lady has tragedy after tragedy. Please look into it and possibly cover it on your channel. I have been in a controlling marriage & I always did what I was told & the isolation together with feeling like you have to say sorry 100 times a day. My experience is Nothing to compare with this lady's torture, it's beyond belief. I definitely believe she was 100% brainwashed. No doubt. Knowing the effect it had on me, a miniscule experience compared to this disgusting, depraved human being inflicted on these women. She was going to my half sister's birthday in Westwood. Linda said Colleen was a very naive girl. But there were a few serial killers in California around the late 70's, early 80's, not a good time to be hitchhiking. She's alive at least.

I remember reading and watching about this case since it's so famous and then I remembered the David Parker Ray case about the "Toy Box" killer and that one made me so damn angry that he practically got away with it. It was so similar about keeping people in confinement but Ray was drugging the women and hearing the recording he would play for them always sent shivers up my spine. I think he was a Scorpio too. The beginning of this story genuinely triggers me because I feel like I lived a very very similar situation.
Literally same ages, same background story and he did the same to me. He “abused if his power” and did MANY things without consent ever. Our relationship started in the same way and I was too scared to leave for two years until eventually he got tired of me and left, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this guy comes up as a serial killer and socio path due to what he did to me. He then did the same to the girl after me. I’m 20 now and couldn’t IMAGINE being with someone who’s 16 or less.

Oh man I have scary news from here in the USA. On March 01,2022 he is being granted a probable cause trial. Basically it will be determined if for some unnamed reason, he will be given a whole new trial. Unfortunately this means Colleen will have to go through a whole new trial/testimony again. However, if denied the probable cause trial, he will automatically still be kept in prison, getting "mental help". I will keep you updated.

Now you need to tell the story of the abduction of Steven Stayner. He was only 7yrs old when he was taken and held for 7yrs. His kidnapper took another child and thats when Steven escaped and saved the other child. Also Stevens brother Carey ended up becoming a murderer and killed 4 women. There was a tv movie called 'I know my first name is Steven' made about him. Unfortunately he died in a motorcycle accident when he was 24yrs old.

When serial killer Todd Kohlhepp’s last victim, Kayla, was rescued she told law enforcement that Todd kept telling her that Stockholm syndrome would ‘kick in soon’ and they would be partners. This case is why that statement has always haunted me.

Janice was coerced into it. The important thing is that she did the right thing in the end. But it's a shame you couldn't find out anything about the children growing up in that environment. I know as a victim of child abuse myself, that they must have picked up on something going on that was disturbing at least.

Yeah. Well how could it be her fault anyway ? Foolish for hitchhiking ? I suppose so. It was common in the mid to late 70 s though. I remember when I was a kid in Australia heaps of people did it, it was popular in large countries like USA and Australia. A few people were abducted and murdered, but most people just got to go where they needed to go.

I read the true crime novel based on this case several years ago. It's very good, ie horrific but an enthralling read, and stayed with me for years. I forget the author but the title is
