Take Your Time
S.O.S. Band Lyrics

Let's do it
Oh
Let's do it
Baby
Take your time
Let's do it
Come on, baby
Oh
Let's do it
Baby
Take your time
Let's do it

You know you ought to slow down
You been working too hard
And that's a fact
Sit back and relax a while
Take some time to laugh and smile
Lay your heavy load down
So we can stop and kick back
It seems we never take the time to do
All the things we want to, yeah

Now, baby we can do it
Take the time
Do it right
We can do it, baby
Do it tonight

Baby, we can do it
Take the time
Do it right
We can do it, baby
Do it tonight

The love I feel for you
You feel for me
One life is all we have to live
Our love is all we have to give, yeah
There are so many things
For us to do and see
Let's take some time to be alone
Lock the door
Pull out the phone, yeah

And baby we can do it
Take the time
Do it right
We can do it, baby
Do it tonight

Baby, we can do it
Take the time
Do it right
We can do it, baby
Do it tonight

Baby we can do it
Take the time
Do it right
We can do it, baby
Do it tonight

Baby, we can do it
Take the time
Do it right
We can do it, baby
Do it tonight

Take your time

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to S.O.S. Band's song Take Your Time suggest that the singer's loved one is overworked and needs to take a break. The lyrics advise the loved one to relax and take the time to do things they enjoy. The singer suggests that they spend time alone, away from the pressures of daily life, so they can appreciate each other's company without distractions. The overall tone of the song is laidback and caring, with an underlying sense of urgency that suggests the singer is afraid of losing their loved one if they don't take the time to appreciate their relationship.

The song's message is clear: in a fast-paced world, it's important to take time out to appreciate the people and things we love. This message is particularly relevant in today's hectic world. The song reminds us that we should make time for the people and things that matter most to us.

One possible interpretation of the song is that the singer is afraid that their loved one is overworked and stressed out. They suggest that the loved one take a break and spend some time relaxing with them. The loved one may be so busy that they are neglecting their relationship, and the singer worries that they might lose them if they don't make an effort to reconnect. The song is a reminder that even in the most stressful of times, we should always make time for love.

This is an amazing song, with amazing vocals, and amazing band. However...
Whoever mixed it (or is it the mastering process?) has some of the vocals too LOUD.

If you are playing this loud (as we like to do), there are some sections that will rip your ears off if you do not lower the volume.

@3:00, you can turn up the volume and enjoy the sonic art work.
But, @6:59, you have to lower the volume, or kiss your hearing goodbye.

The same @1:20, and @2:25. Those parts of the mix has the vocals blasting above everything else. It is unnatural and hurts your ears when playing loud.

Other than the above, the talent of all involved shines through. Chandra Currelley's vocals are amazing. She knocks it out of the park. But the rest of the band also shines, as well as the song's writers.

So I do not understand how the studio screwed up the attenuation level of the vocals during those aforementioned parts of the song. Were they deaf?
And know one had veto power, before releasing it to the public? How hard would it have been to take the stem with her vocals and tone it down where it is too loud?

When I play a song, it sucks to have to raise and lower the volume at different parts. There are countless hit songs with this issue. Unfortunately, this is one such song.
I love the song, but I hate having to adjust the volume to save my ears. You play the song, and you have the volume control at-the-ready, knowing when the ear-hurting part is approaching. It shouldn't be that way.

I hope that the initial capture master tapes are around and in great shape, so that hopefully a properly mixed version will be released that does not have those vocal sections too loud.
I further hope that if they fix the above hear-hurting issue, that they leave everything else alone. All too often, when one thing is fixed, they screw up something else.
